1969 Ford Torino GT Fastback
1969 Ford Torino GT Description
Originally a 351w 2v c6 car. It had a 460/c6 when I got it. It was awesome but I couldn't drive it. 4000rpm on the highway and everyone passed me . with about 6 mpg. So I got crazy. pulled the drive train swapped in a chevy LS 5.3L with a 700r4. put in a GM LSA cam shaft had it tuned. now I make around 300hp(never had it on a dyno), I run about 2200rpm on the hwy and I can pass anybody. and get 18mpg.
has a msd fuel pump and a corvette fuel pressure regulator/filter.
GM LSA cam shaft gives it great smooth power and an Idle just like you would expect from a muscle car.
I put in a 2200rpm stall convertor and a trans go shift kit with corvette servos.
2.5" dual exhaust with x pipe and thrush turbo mufflers.
The engine had 67000 miles on it when I got it. might have 70 now.
Awesome car. You cant drive it anywhere without having people coming up to talk to you or look at it. its not a show car. I built it to drive it. The paint is old but I like the way it looks. the interior is very nice but again not show quality. more like well maintained.
there are some rust bubbles in the paint around some of the wheel wells as you can see in the pictures.
American racing wheels 17".the wheels are wider in the back. has 215/50/17 Michelin on front and 235/50/17 rear.
has original 4 wheel drum brakes with dual reservoir master cylinder. all has been replaced and it stops great.
the front suspension is tight. has a rebuilt control valve, a new pitman arm and upper ball joints.
I did the Shelby upper control arm relocation to lower the front 1" and improve steering geometry. It has big block springs in the front that have been cut down for ride height but maintaining better spring rate for handling. new Monroe shocks in front.
the rear suspension is all stock except with adjustable air shocks and 2" lowering blocks.
The rear end is the original ford 9" with 4.11 gears and a locker( I don't know what kind).
