1997 Ford E-Series Van Description

I am the original owner from new, clean title in hand.

Excellent condition, but the motor needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

*This vehicle cannot be driven and is being sold as is.

*The buyer is responsible for shipping and/or transporting the van.

I meticulously maintained this van, but the Triton V-10 motor developed a problem.

The motor still started and ran, but it made a hell of a racket. It sounded like it had a bad lifter.

I started it every so often, but nothing changed or cleared up, finally a rod popped through the oil pan!

This engine problem developed overnight without warning.

I had just changed the oil and filter and also flushed and changed the coolant.

One week later I was preparing to change the front brake pads (still needed) and the engine problem started.

The check engine light did not come on when the van was running.

The oil and coolant are both still clean – no signs of cross contamination.

The A/C still blows cold, the heater gets hot, everything works, but the motor needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

Has never been wrecked, no body damage and no rust in any of the wheel wells (see photos 1-10)

There are a few minor door dings and chips in the paint on the sides of the van (see photos 20-22)

The roof needs to be cleaned up and repainted (19 years of sun exposure, see photos 23 & 24)

In addition to all normal maintenance and services, I have also installed and/or rebuilt the following:

*Class III Hidden Hitch (2” x 2” box, 5,000 lbs.) trailer hitch installed when vehicle was new

*The E4OD automatic transmission was rebuilt to a very high standard at 79,106 miles

*American Racing AR-23 alloy wheels (8” x 16”) installed at 83,656 miles

*Bilstein heavy duty shock absorbers installed at 88,088 miles

*New radiator installed at 110,605 miles

*New windshield installed at 128,842 miles

*New turn signal switch installed at 133,910 miles
