1966 Ford Mustang Restomod Description

We all know the legend of the 1966 Shelby GT350H. They were true weekend racers that could be rented on a Friday, take home trophies on Saturday, and then returned on a Sunday. This fastback has been built as an accurate tribute to those Hertz cars on the outside. But underneath the skin is an enhanced 289 heart, five-speed, and an upgraded suspension. It's such a worthy tribute to competition that Carroll Shelby even signed it. You know from looking around at Mustangs that the 2+2 fastback holds its value the best. After all, it was the style that looked like it had the most gallop in all of the pony car crowd, and it was the only one Carroll Shelby used to debut the GT350. Speaking of the Shelby Mustang, we know you've definitely noticed the upgrade to the snake-bitten hood with hood pins and the scoop. This was all part of a package that happened during a meticulous restoration where the black paint and gold stripe livery of the "H" Hertz cars was laid down with a very professional hand. The result is a mirror-like surface that rivals the chrome bumpers for shine. You really do have to marvel at the quality of this build/restoration that got much more correct than just the great paint. With details like the side scoops, badging, and even the emblems on the front and rear, it is a great tribute vehicle. Add in the iconic American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, and this Hertz looks like its ready to be rented out for weekend fun. This special feeling continues inside. A pristine black interior is always desirable in a classic, and this one really goes the extra mile. It's been treated to new components, so the comfort-weave seats look crisp; the door panels feel confident as you pull them closed; and the black carpet feels soft to the touch. But even as nice as all this is, you're really going to be focused on the glovebox. Carroll Shelby's signature is a part of this car, making it a truly worthy tribute. The woodgrained Shelby steering wheel goes in your left hand; the shifter goes in your right; and you look out at the full round gauge panel - this is real classic motoring. But as you count the gears on the stick shift and look at the Cobra tach on the dash, you get the feeling that there is something special under the hood.A casual glance in the engine bay will show you some Shelby-correct pieces like the bracer bar and Cobra valve covers, but you might want to look deeper for the full performance picture. This 289 cubic-inch V8 was rebuilt only 414 miles ago, and it was given some go-fast goodies like high performance cams and the massive set of dual Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors. This added performance is utilized to the fullest thanks to the addition of a five-speed manual transmission. In fact, you can truly be a weekend warrior with this coupe thanks to upgrades like the Ron Morris Performance adjustable front suspension and large Baer slotted & vented front disc brake package. We've got the title documentation to keep with this thoroughbred, but all you have to do is see how clean the undercarriage is to understand the level of work and condition of this coupe. Fastbacks are always in demand, so one as well put together as this will be flying out of or showroom quickly. Call today!!!
