1973 GMC Sierra 2500 Description

Here for your consideration is my 1973 GMC Sierra Grande 3/4 Ton 4X4. I dont know where to start as I've put alot of work into this truck. I bought it from the original family that bought in new in 1973. From there I replaced the small block 350 then got bored with it and installed a big block 396. This motor came out of 1966 Chevy Super Sport and is the 375HP version. I can send casting numbers if need be. I had it rebuilt with a comp cam 270H and .40 over pistons. It has a forged crank. I was told that the heads that are on it the desirable versions for high horsepower. Since the motor install I have put maybe 1500 miles on it. Its a torque monster. The only slight issue I have is the where the oil filter connects the gasket leaks. I had to convert it from the old style filter housing to the current screw on type and I couldnt get the gasket to seal properly. The truck was lifted 4inches and has a great stance. When I lifted it I also had the front axle shimmed so it drives true and straight. Of course shocks were replaced as well extended brake lines. In the past two months I purchased new 16x10 Black Rock wheels with 33" brand new Dick Cepek Extreme Mud Terrain tires....less than 300 miles total on them. Needless to say this set me back a pretty penny. Transmission is a SM465 with a granny gear. Four wheel drive works as it should. Gear ratio in the axles is 4:10. New ceramic clutch when motor was installed. Interior is clean, drivers side seat has wear. Rust is very minimal. There are spots behind the rear fender, on the front of hood where leaves collected and a spot inside the bed. This is not a show truck nor is it a mud monster. Its a nice original paint survivor that can be used as a hunting vehicle as well as go to the local car hangout and get plenty of looks and thumbs ups. Great platform for a frame off as well. The remaining items that need doing are the vent window needs replacing on the drivers door so the window will roll up and down properly. I replaced the regulator but that wasnt the problem. The track on the vent window is defective. The front axle yoke has a little leak so that seal will need replacing, simple fix. Probably would the valves adjusted a bit since the break in. Door lock mechanisms switched out so the doors can lock properly. Please call (469)233-9099 with any questions.
