GMC Sonoma - Low Miles, Clean Title, Upholstery, Suspension, Shell, Spare Wheels
1997 GMC Sonoma Description
Looking to sell my professionally upgraded GMC Sonoma. I am the second owner and bought it in 2008 from PG&E- it was a low miles fleet maintained truck with only 65k on it.

The stock suspension was droopy and tired so the front and rear shocks replaced with Bilstein HD (lifetime warranty), the front sway bar was upgraded and a rear was added using factory Chevy Cyclone ZQ8 Sway Bar Package. In addition a Hellwig 1250lb rear add a leaf kit adds more support for the fiberglass Vision camper shell, improves handling and stability and allows you to load up the bed without it drooping down.
The entire cooling system has been replaced including the heater core. The common vortec lower manifold gasket replacement has been performed using upgraded lifetime gaskets.
The fuel injector spider has been replaced and upgraded to the later model design injectors, the oxygen sensors have both been replaced as well.
This truck has custom upholstery, two tone carbon fiber seats with Alcantara Suede headliner. It also has a custom mounted Alpine stereo in the glovebox with bluetooth and iPod control. All speakers have been replaced with upgraded aftermarket units from infinity / polk.
Driver and Passenger seat heaters were also retrofitted, along with bi-xenon HID lighting.
This truck has served my wife and I well as a very reliable camper. We used it on the weekends to do outdoor activities, haul our bicycles etc. It handles amazing with an empty or full load and attracts zero attention on the road or when parked. The camper shell has only the locking rear window and the stock stereo was left mounted in place so that when I parked it while backpacking I didn't have to worry about it getting broken into.
I also regularly parked this truck in ghetto areas without having to worry about break in issues, I often had expensive equipment in the back and needed something low profile but still comfortable and fun to drive and this is what I came up with.
It has lightweight forged aluminum centerline wheels (tires are at approx 90% tread remaining). Also included is the stock wheel set which currently has a set of Bridgestone Winterforce tires (approx 30-40% tread remaining still usable in snow / wet weather).
Truck has a clean title, below is a summary of the upgrades the truck has and their respective costs. Reserve is less than half of what I've spent on upgrades and recent maintenance (aka the truck for free if you pay half my maintenance / upgrade costs.).
Truck was only driven 30k miles over 8 years.
All of the upgrades and maintenance was done at AutoBrains.
Includes the original GM floor mats & Owners Manual.
The headliner was reupholstered in charcoal suede Alcantara with the visors to match earlier this year. The stock steering wheels in the S10 / Sonoma pickups are foam and disintegrate with age, I replaced my stock wheel with a much nicer factory GM leather wrapped wheel (original equipment from a full size truck).
Currently registered to 05/2017 in California, smogged the first week of May 2016, in California this smog is valid for transfer for 90 days after the date of smog (saves you $60).
Truck runs excellent and averages 24mpg. No check engine or other lights or known issues.
