1996 GMC Suburban SLT Description

Selling our p.o.s. '96 Suburban 4x4 daily driver. 228,000 original miles. This truck needs everything, even though I drive it every day of the week. In fact I just got done doing a 1600 mile round trip from here to the other side of Tucson. Tagged, registered & plated in Arizona. Will NOT pass smog here in California without a substantial monetary investment. Cat's or O2 sensors are going out, tranny has lost most of reverse, brakes are bad and needs front rotors & pads. Also needs tie rod ends and some other parts up front. Uses half a quart of oil every 600 miles or so, and loses a quart of coolant in about the same time. Driver's seat is torn to crap, passenger seat belt needs to be replaced.....as do the tires. No 3rd bench seat in this one. But she starts and runs fine...believe it or not. And except for the surface rust on the hood and front section of the roof, the body is real straight. Electric windows still work, a/c needs charging, radio/cd player, electric locks, all gauges work (rear left brake light is out), signals and horn works.. Has a fairly new battery, heater core and alternator on her. Lighter and wipers work as well. And the t-case/4x4 works great. We've owned this truck for six-plus years and have put maybe just 55k miles on her---and that includes two American road trips to the East Coast and back. Making way for a new toy next week.
