1997 GMC savana conversion van
1997 GMC Savana Description
The van has almost 225000 miles in it with clean emissions and GA title. The transmission is newer (around 130000 + 15000 miles based on what the previous owner told me).
Pros
- Reasonably drives well and is reliable. So far left me stranded on road only once way back in 2012. I have taken this to Florida and Smokeys few times (and even to upstate new york once in 2016) within the last few years with no issues.
- AC compressor, front brake pads and rotors, EGR sensor, oil pressure sensor, battery, radiator and front/back suspension were changed in the last 5 years period - some very recently.
- Front tires have nice thread (bought new this year). Back tires have decent thread.
- Wheel alignment done this year and have one free alignment remaining.
- Comfortable ride with plenty of storage space.
- All seats except the drivers seat are in near perfect condition.
Cons
- The remote started does not work but the remote lock/unlock works using one of the two keys.
- AC is currently working after I bypassed the relay with a manual switch. I don't really know the reason.
- Driver seat is broken at the base but you would not even notice - I have been driving around in the current condition for the last 2 years. Driver seat hand rest is torn too. You may get a replacement from another compatible conversion van - found few from Craigslist earlier but never bothered to go and check.
- Needs coolant and power steering fluid top up. There is some small coolant leak from the pipe that takes coolant to rear side of the van and from power steering pump. I just top up the fluids once or twice every month or so.
