2003 Honda Civic, 130000 miles, 1 owner
2003 Honda Civic Description
I am looking to sell my 2003 Honda Civic LX 2-door coupe with automatic transmission. She is a great little car, only 130,000 miles, and owned only by my family since she was purchased - new - from a dealer. I love this car, I would have driven her another 10 years and been perfectly happy, but she needs some TLC and I was in the position to purchase a newer car, so that's what I did.
This car has been maintained well for its entire life, I have every service record since she was bought new (might be missing a few oil change receipts because they got thrown away, but everything major is there). She has just had a new battery put in less than a year ago, an oil change/tire rotation last week, and the AC was recharged and the left front headlight and back, passenger brake light was replaced within the last 14 months.
Advantages to buying this car:
>The AC and heat still work and work well. AC blows COLD, was measured blowing 43-45 degrees as of July 2015, the heat blows hot (don't have a temperature measurement for that).
>The radio and cd player function normally and have never had problems.
>The dash fully illuminates.
>There was an airbag recall for this model a few years prior, the car was serviced for this recall and has brand new airbags, around a year old.
>The gas mileage is awesome! I have to fill up once every 1.5 weeks and I can fill up my tank for under $25.
>Interior is in good shape, the upholstery has a few stains that aren't super obvious and can probably come completely out. There was no smoking in this car. There are no burn holes or rips in the interior. There are no cracks in the dash.
>Very tight turning radius
>This is a smaller car, meaning it can fit in some pretty tight spots, perfect for city driving/parking.
>I have all original owners manuals and the spare donut is in the trunk, under the liner, fully operational.
>My favorite thing about this car: the dash is small and the front view is very wide and open. With the newer civics Honda extended the windshield over the hood, making the dash huge and cumbersome (in my opinion) and creating a fairly large blindspot. This model of civic does not have that problem and the blindspot is very small for this car. I have found that I am more aware on the road and can see my surroundings much easier because of this, it is honestly my favorite thing about this car and it was the main reason I did not purchase a newer civic when it came time for me look for another car.
Full disclosure - although this car is a great little machine, there are a few things that require attention, although they will not affect the car's ability to run:
>The passenger side headlight is out
>There is a divet in the windshield from a small rock.
>The passenger side bumper is cracked from a fender-bender that happened around 2007/2008. I have not fixed the bumper since it happened and it has not caused any problems except with the headlight, which needs to be replaced more often than the drivers side headlight.
>There are scratches and dings on the exterior of the car, normal wear and tear for a car that has been on the roads since 2003
>The drivers side door cannot be locked from the outside. I believe someone tried to force open my handle at one point and distorted the lock (apparently they couldn't get in, though). The passenger side door CAN be locked, so you can still lock the car if needed.
Here are the things that need immediate attention:
>The brake lines have a slow leak and have lost pressure.
>The brakes need to be replaced.
>The tires need to be replaced.
***This is what I was told by a mechanic last week. I took it in because the brakes have very low pressure. Car is still drivable, but cannot brake quickly***
AGAIN: THIS CAR NEEDS SOME REPAIRS - I just want to make that very clear, that is why I am willing to accept a low price compared to similar cars with similar years and similar miles.
If you are interested in purchasing this car please do not hesitate to contact me.
