This family owned Honda Pilot met its demise recently due to a undetected coolant leak. The engine overheated and died. We had it towed to a local mechanic who was able to start it but could tell it wasn't good news. In their opinion the fix would be repairing a blown head gasket and/or cracked cylinder head. We decided to skip the expense of the full diagnostic and resulting repair and subsequently purchased another vehicle. After 175k miles of reliable Honda performance it was time to move on.
