2001 Honda Insight Description

***Relisting due to previous buyer being a no show at agreed upon time location, and now unresponsive to emails/phone calls.***
2001 Honda Insight Hybrid 5-speed manual transmission. Mechanically very solid! The IMA Battery was replaced in July of 2014 along with the IMA control module. The 1.0 Liter engine runs smooth - I just changed the oil and filter today with Valvoline Synthetic 0W20. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts into all gears with little effort without and grinding, and the clutch grabs as it should. Everything is functional on the car expect the rear wiper and defroster - I have not looked into why or tried to fix them. One more thing to note, the front underbody panel is currently not installed on the car. I do have the panel, just never got around to re-installing it. I bought the car this way from the previous owner. The other panels are in place. The AC blows cold, and the heat blows hot. The power windows and locks all function without issue. Mileage my go up slightly as I still drive the car to the airport and back.
I have owned the car since August 2016 and it has been my daily driver since that time, but my career has changed, and I will not have a need to commute locally any longer. As far as MPG's. I can say I usually get around mid 50's to mid 60's depending on weather/wind/driving style. I have always driven the car at the speed limit, if not 5-10 over depending on the flow of traffic, so depending on your style, you may see more. I have seen as high as 75-80 when driving routes where the speed limits are around 40-55mph.
Since owning the car I replaced both front rotors along with replacing the brake pads on the front disk brakes. I had all 4 wheels/tires balanced as a couple of them were a bit out of balance when I bought it. The tires are fairly new - maybe 5-7K on them - Show very little wear. I rotated them about 2K miles ago.
I have all the records from the previous owners. The vehicle did experience what looks like a minor fender bender in 2012. Everything was repaired and total cost according to the receipt from the auto body shop was $1400. The records show the owners took care of all the major services needed. I also have proof the IMA battery and control module were replaced in July 2014.
The car has it fair share of chips/scratches/dings as any 16 year old used vehicle would. The worst of it is on the rear bumper cover compliments of a truck accidentally bumping into the rear of the car while I was stopped at a light - no real damage, just a couple of gouges and scratches from their license plate bracket and bolts. This accident shows on the history report as I had to file a police report since the other driver did not stop after this occurred. The interior is in fairly good shape - I would give it a 8 out of 10.
Please contact me with any questions you may have on this car. It should make someone a very reliable and economical commuter/driver.
