2001 Honda Civic LX Sedan for Repair or Parts, Drivable, Strong Runner
2001 Honda Civic Description
This Civic LX was in daily use and a strong runner with good cosmetics until April 2015, when it was hit in the rear HARD while parked, by a VERY inebriated person (he hit NINE other cars during the same evening). The impact broke both rear wheels (the car was slammed into a curb); I replaced them with a couple of junkyard wheels to get the car home. The major damage is to the rear body and suspension; top quality repair estimates at the time exceeded $6000, so it's effectively totaled. It is drivable, but is very unstable due to the rear suspension damage; driving it 30 miles from the accident site to my home was quite a...thrill. There probably wasn't much chance I'd end up driving off the Bay Bridge, but it sure felt like I might. If you don't care about looks, it could be made safe and put back on the road pretty cheaply by bolting on new suspension and a bumper cover. Everything works, nothing is missing, passes CA smog, new factory floor mats, starts up instantly and runs smooth, good brakes and tires; it was my daughter's car and I didn't scrimp on maintenance.
