2002 Honda Civic Description

Up for sale is a 2002 Honda Civic EX 5-Speed Manual Transmission. I'm the original owner of this car and bought it new from Herb Chambers Honda in Boston back in 2002. All recalls have been repaired by Honda including the air bag inflator and the low beam headlight wire harness. The AC works fine and the clutch for the AC compressor was replaced back in 2011. The timing belt broke last year and a new water pump and timing belt were installed. 11 valves were also replaced since the car was running when the timing belt broke. The front brakes were also replaced back in September as well as the two front tires. A new windshield was installed last week. The car has the following issues:
  • The driver side window and sunroof work, however the passenger and rear windows do not. The fuses were replaced but immediately blew so there must be a short somewhere.
  • Hood release handle is broken so releasing the hood requires a set of pliers. I have a brand new hood release handle and cable that I'll include with the sale.
  • Rear tires need to be replaced.
  • The oil drain plug hole is stripped so the pan has an oversized drain plug installed. A new oil pan will be needed down the line.
  • The car leaks oil.
  • The check engine light is on. The errors include Catalytic Converter Codes and Multiple Cylinder Misfire Codes.
  • Clutch is starting to slip a bit.
  • Interior is in ok condition for its age, however, the driver's side floor mat and carpet are well worn. The fabric on the ceiling is starting to come loose in a few spots.
  • The rear bumper is cracked and there are a few small dents on the rear, passenger side door.
  • The keyless entry remotes have stopped working.
This car runs pretty well for its age and I have used it almost daily to drive from Groveland to Watertown. However, the car will definitely NOT pass inspection in its current state. The check engine light issues and the rear tires need to be dealt with.
If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message. Thanks!
