Still looks, drives, even smells new!
The best thing I can say about this car is it's been babied. I'm the only owner and driver and bought it new off the lot in late 2013. I've always taken extra care of it. I only drive it to and from work (around 20 miles round trip). It stays in the garage at home, and I park it on the bottom floor of a garage at work so it's not in the sun and cars don't park next to me. I've never had food or drink in the car, so it still has the smell of a new car.
I made a handful of upgrades to the car shortly after I got it.
First, I bought an upgraded audio/navigation touch screen system with the backup camera. The maps and navigation work great and I couldn't live without the backup camera. It has a much snazzier display screen from the stock blue display, so I've been really happy with this. I wouldn't lie about any issues with the car, so I will say there is one strange thing with the Aux function of this device - that's if you wanted to use the custom audio app instead of the standard audio system. For some reason it has a buzz with engine noise. This was not a deal breaker for me though because I don't think I would've ever used it anyway. Everything else works great, and I don't think most people would care that it didn't work right. If you have any concerns about this, let me know. Again, the radio/CD/navigation sounds/XM/USB/Bluetooth audio sounds all work fine with no issues. Google this to see the navigation system: UNAVI F1 2013-2015 Genesis Coupe 7" LCD Next I put 2 10" bass speakers and and 400W amp in the car, so it does have some thump if that's your thing. There's a knob in a compartment up front to adjust the bass level to turn it up or down. I also bought a custom box made especially for this car so the speakers would look really good in the trunk - as you can see in the pictures. The amp is mounted behind the back seats so they are not visible from anywhere unless you take down the seats. Here are the descriptions of the amp and speakers if you want to look at the specs:
Amp: Kenwood XR600-1 eXceleon Reference Fit Mono Digital Power Amplifier
Speakers: Kenwood KFC-W2513PS 10" 2000 Watt 4-Ohm Car Audio Subwoofers Subs KFCW2513PS
Speaker box: 2013-2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Sub box
Not a big deal, but I put LED lights in the interior of the car just because I liked the bright white look a lot better than the stock yellow dull lights.
Finally, I did have the windows tinted as dark as was legal. I love the look of dark windows on a black car.
I've driven it fast a handful of times when I had the opportunity, but I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, so there's really not a lot of places for that. This is a great car that's really fun to drive though, but I definitely haven't beaten it up and ran the motor hard. I don't think I ever even raced anyone with it.
The car will still be under warranty if you buy it for another 2 years or 44k miles. If you aren't familiar with Hyundai's warranty process, this is what they say about 2nd owners:
Second and/or subsequent owners have powertrain components coverage under the 5-Year/60,000-Mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Excludes coverage for vehicles in commercial use (e.g., taxi, route delivery, delivery service, rental, etc.).
Hyundai Assurance America's Best Warranty
Again, I really liked this car. But my kids are getting older and I had to start taking my oldest to middle school, which means I have to fit him and his trombone in the car on Mondays. It's doable, but I knew it was time I had to get something bigger. But if you like small cars, this is a great one to own!
I tried to take a lot of pictures, and I have more on another site I can send you (no links are allowed here). Please let me know if you'd like that link or if you have any questions.
