1965 Jaguar Mk-2 S-Type 3.8 Liter Automatic Transmission. This is the deluxe MK II with the fully independent rear “Jaguar” suspension (like the “E” Type).
This is a partial restoration.I purchased this automobile over thirteen years ago, put it into a garage and never got around to completing the restoration. The previous owner provided me with photographs and documentation of his restoration work.I believe his assertions to be correct, but I am selling the car in AS IS condition with no warranties, neither written nor implied.
Last fall I put a new battery and fresh gasoline into it and the engine runs (see videos), although the carburetors need to be adjusted (the previous owner mentions this in his documentation). The engine runs very smoothly; he has documented the balancing details of his engine overhaul. The choke is not connected and the radiator leaks. One of the fuel tank pumps is not operational. The previous owner details that he measured the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge and that the electric gauge is non-functioning. I took his word for this, but I am selling the car in AS IS condition with no warranties, neither written nor implied.
Over the years, it has been stored in a dry garage and the paint and chrome have suffered some dings. The interior leather needs to be replaced. Some of the wood has been refinished; some of the wood could use attention. The only time that I drove this car was from his garage onto, and then off of, the transport trailer.Since then, the brakes have failed (see the red-light in the video) so the car can not be test-driven. There are indications that it was/is equipped with over-drive and air conditioning, but I am making no claim to their presence or functionality. Included with the sale are the previous owner’s documentation and many spare parts; some of which are in new, uninstalled condition. This is a solid automobile and I am representing it to the best of my knowledge, but I am selling the car in “AS IS” condition with no warranties, neither written nor implied.
