1989 Jaguar XJS Description

"I firmly believe that everyone who is worth anything at all should own a 12-cylinder car before they die." - David E. Davis, editor of Car and Driver magazine.
The incomparable sound, the turbine-like smoothness, the endless torque: the V12 has been extolled by automotive experts for well over fifty years. Through the 1970s and 1980s, Jaguar ruled the roost with their unique powerhouse. Originally designed for dominance at Le Mans, the 5.3L Jaguar V12 produced an impressive 295 HP for its time, with monstrous torque available at all RPM ranges. I compare driving a Jaguar V12 to riding from the crest of a roller coaster: you fall deeper and deeper into the throttle until the speed becomes too much to bear. After the Series III E-TYPE, the XJS provided this raw power in a sophisticated grand touring package. Some called it "England's muscle car". The XJS won the 1979 Cannonball Run, crossing the continental United States in 32 Hours and 51 Minutes (a distance of over 2,800 miles). This well-maintained, garaged Jaguar XJS 5.3L HE V12 is a classic example of what David E. Davis was talking about. You want power? Check. You want sophistication? Check? You want to feel like James Bond? Double Check.
Now for some details: New Tires, new belts, all fluids changed annually. Distributor overhauled in 2015. No overheating problems and no engine oil leaks. CD changer included in trunk, radar system built into car. Used once per month for short (around 100 mile) highway road trips with no problems. Being sold to pay for a new GT.
An Honest Assessment of Deficiencies:
Both power window motors require replacement.
A/C system needs recharged.
The power steering fluid reservoir leaks.
Minor paint fade on the bonnet.
