2001 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas Anthracite Black
2001 Jaguar XJ8 Description
If you've ever wanted a trouble-free, affordable, low-maintenance older Jaguar with that classic look, here is a fantastic example!I present my 2001 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas, the long wheelbase luxury trim level model.Built when Jaguar was fully under Ford ownership+operation+design.4.0 liter Ford V8, low miles, everything works, no damage at all, not much wear, dealer+specialist serviced, great cosmetic condition. Most importantly it has had the metal timing chain tensioners+new chains+metal guides upgrade performed. New cam/valve cover gaskets, a new water/coolant pump and now it runs like new.It has been my "almost-every-day" driver for 9 months and has never given me any issues whatsoever. It runs beautifully.Brand new Turanza Serenity tires 6 months ago. Has a new Pirelli P6000 full size spare. No window tint.Has the best air-condition of any car I've owned or drive regularly (ice-cold!)No oil leaks since the new gaskets were put on (the originals were past their rated life so I had them replaced). No mechanical problems at all.Has two remotes (both work), and one key (more can be made by my specialist if you want). It was originally bought, owned, dealer serviced in Florida until I bought it 9 months ago. You'll never see another one in such near perfect condition. As close to a new looking 2001 car as you could hope to find.I got very lucky finding this well preserved beauty and have pampered it and improved it. I addressed all the minor issues (new rear seat belt trim piece, new rear 3rd break light assembly, new dash air vent grill). The only issues to mention: the trunk paint is a little hazy (see pic) it probably just needs a good waxing, the rear bumper has a scuff on it from backing into a plastic trashcan, the drivers door panel is a little loose near the top (some of the internal clips are probably old/brittle) so it moves a little when the door closes, and lastly, one of the larger sunroof interior panel spring arms doesn't like to stay in it's hole (so it pops out upon opening the roof so the panel will not stay held up all the way on that side, it doesn't affect its functioning, I will try to fix it, but it is a very minor thing I assure you). The time has come to pass it on to someone who will appreciate and care for it as I have.My starting price reflects the quality you will get, and the effort that has been put into this automobile to make it near perfect, so I will not compromise on the starting price due to the great condition and the new factory parts I've had put in/on to ensure that it will now run strong/reliable for a lifetime. It will in all probability need only the regular oil changes for years to come. The only maintenance services I would expect in the near future are the ones listed in the scheduled maintenance booklet at the later stated mileages.Absolutely ready to go to a new owner that will cherish/care for it.Located in Tyler, Texas and we do have our own little local airport if you're wanting to fly here and drive this beauty home.Happy to answer any questions!
