1988 Jaguar XJS XJS-C Description

Hello,
You are bidding on an 1988 Jaguar XJS-C Cabriolet V-12.The car runs fine, it will however need an fuel pump shortly as the one that is installed acts up from time to time, installation of a new fuel pump is super easy as the pump is located in the trunk between the spare tire and battery, there are only 2 wires and 2 hoses attached to the pump. Pumps may be found online from $50.00 on up depending on the quality that you want.
I purchased this car in 2008 from a local aftermarket Jaguar parts / repair shop who in turn purchased it from the original owner. I got a great deal on the car since i worked at the Jag shop on a part time as needed basis.
The car is supposed to be one of 150 made in the model year 1988, since Jaguar wanted to start making a true convertible and not a cabriolet.
The Original owner bought the car new and at about 75,000 miles lost compression on one of the cylinders in the engine, my shop purchased the car with the intention that the shop owner was going to fix or replace the motor and drive it himself. The shop owner stored the car until 2008 when he decided to simply put Jaguar crate motor in the car rather than try to take apart and fix the existing motor, so in short: THE MOTOR HAS BEEN REPLACED AND DOES NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL MOTOR.
I purchased the car from the owner as he was going through a divorce and needed money more than he needed the car. My life has become to hectic for me to continue to enjoy the car so now its time to send the car along to a new owner that care for the car as it should be cared for.
Upon purchasing the car I added a custom steering wheel, European Head light kit, aftermarket stereo (we still have the original, it will be sent with the car) Re-treated the top since it was starting to fade and we have more of the treatment solution that will go with the car. Added late model Lattice type wheels. Replace most of the exterior bulbs with LED bulbs.Had new ALUMINUM clips made for the rear top to fasten to since the original plastic clips were cracking and about to break. The car was converted to 134A AC. ( The AC is currently not working, see details below). The battery is less than a year old, the tires are in good shape. The care does have the " automatic" seatbelts and the seem to be working fine, the car will come with the bypass clips for the seatbelt to make them stationary and not automatic. The car comes with both tops, the hard top which is pictured with the glass window and the soft top which once installed would fold down manually like a convertible. BUT IT WILL NEED TO BE COMPLETELY REWORKED since it is in poor condition, the car does come with all pieces associated with both tops. The T-Tops are in great shape and go in and out easily.
Now for the problems,
AC compressor will need either a new clutch or compressor replaced altogether, however this car uses the old GM A-6 compressors and those are readily available. The AC vaccume actuators will need to be replace, these are located beside the glove box and when they fail the AC sytem goes into default mode which is "defrost" so when this happens you only get cold air out of the defrost vent.
The window regulator on the driver door will need to looked at and possibly replaced, you can however assist the window up and down by hand. Also the window button is reversed, probably a wire a the motor got switched at one point when we looked at the regulator.
The cotton stitching on the seats has let go and the seats will need to be reworked.
We only have part of the owners manual, "pictured".
There is rust damage on the bottom corners of the wheel openings "see pictures"
A large scratch on driver side fender / hood about a foot behind the head light. "see pictures"
The moulding on the fender gap by the windshield has puckered but would we ease to fix and the chrome on the bottom corners of the windshield has come up a bit but this would be easy to fix as well and you guessed it "see pictures"
This vehicle has many of the quirks and issues that you would expect from an 1988 model, it is a perfect project car.
PLEASE. PLEASE, PLEASE ask any and all questions before bidding.
We are located in the Tulsa Oklahoma area, we will work with you on shipping or transporting the vehicle, however ALL transportation costs are the buyers responsibility.
There is no warranty on this vehicle at all it comes as is. What you see is what you get.
Ebay would only allow a set number of pictures so if you need any further images of anything in particular we will be glad to send them along.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL, NO REFUNDS! THIS INCLUDES THE $500.00 DEPOSIT.
We hate to let this ultra cool car go but life moves on and my current lifestyle just doesn't lend itself to an Jaguar XJS-C at this time.
THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!!!!

The center console lid will need to be recovered and the "ski slope" center console around the gear shifter has severely delaminated and will need to be repaired. We have an extra ski slope that we intended to cover with black leather, we will include the ski slope and leather if you would wish to repair this item yourself.
