Jeepster Commando
1968 Jeep Commando Description
Up for auction is a very nice 1968 Jeep Commando. Has a fresh 231 even fire donated from a 1985 Buick Rivera turbo. We went with the 4 barrel intake instead of the turbo setup. Has a 380 holley 2bbl. carb (used adapter). Engine runs excellent. Transmission is the legendary 400 turbo hydromatic which is original to the truck. Trans has been serviced but not rebuilt. It engages and shifts perfectly. Differentials and transfer case are also original and freshly serviced. New brakes and bearings in front, cleaned and adjusted rear, drum brakes on all four corners. Has spring over lift in front, blocks in the rear. Steering is upgraded to saginaw but is still manual. Also upgraded charging system to newer single wire GM alternator. New 33/12.50 15 tires (some of the pics show super swampers, now has the AT tires on it) and new 2" wheel spacers. Has a soft top in excellent condition. I do have a rust free hard top that can go with it but it has not been painted yet. Nice 2 stage yellow paint, not show quality, but very nice driver. Under body has been lightly undercoated (nothing to hide). This Jeep has been in Arizona since at least 1994 and had only one small rust spot on each rocker panel. This is a real head turner going down the road!
I'm sure there are things I have forgotten to mention so feel free to ask questions. 765-470-2175 call or text. Happy bidding!
