1997 JEEP WRANGLER HALF CAB CONVERSION. I HAVE NEVER HAD ON THE STREET, JUST USED ON MY PROPERTY AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO A UTV. STARTS DRIVES, SHIFT, 4 WHEEL DRIVE WORKS.
I HAVE HAD THIS FOR ABOUT A YEAR, AND TYPICALLY ONLY USE IT DURING HUNTING SEASON. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS, IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS THAT I CAN LOOK INTO FOR YOU.
KNOWN PROBLEMS:
A/C EVAPORATOR NEEDS REPLACED FOR AC TO HOLD A CHARGE. I REPLACED THE HIGH SIDE HOSE LAST YEAR WHICH POPPED WHEN I WAS CHARGING WITH FREON. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS, THE A/C QUIT WORKING, AND I RAN A DYE THROUGH THE SYSTEM TO FIND A LEAK, AND FOUND EVAPORATOR WAS LEAKING.
NEEDS A NEW TRANSFER CASE SHIFT LINKAGE BUSHING SET. SOMETIMES WHEN SHIFTING INTO AND OUT OF 4 WHEEL DRIVE, THE SHIFT LINKAGE FROM SHIFT HANDLE POPS OUT OF SHIFT PLACE ON THE TRANSFER CASE. THE BUSHING IS WARN OUT, AND ANOTHER BUSHING FROM A SUPPORT BRACKET IS MISSING. I JUST LEAVE IT IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE, AS I DO NOT STREET THE JEEP.
I INSTALLED A NEW MUFFLER BECAUSE WHEN I GOT THE JEEP THE MUFFLER WAS SQUASHED. I ONLY MENTION THIS BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW OTHER STATES REGULATIONS ON EXHAUST SYSTEMS IF YOU INTEND TO HAVE THIS INSPECTED AND PUT ON THE STREET (MY MUFFLER WELDING SKILLS ARE MEDIOCRE AT BEST)
SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK, BUT I NEVER HAD IT FAST ENOUGH TO SEE IF IT ACTUALLY WORKS
LOOKS LIKE THE STEERING BOX LEAKS, BUT IT MAY BE A LINE FROM POWER STEERING PUMP. I NEVER REALLY GOT INTO TRACING IT DOWN
WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS ARE REMOVED
I HAVE RECENTLY, INSTALLED A NEW HIGH SIDE A/C LINE, INSTALLED A NEW MUFFLER, INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP, NEW DRIVER SIDE DOOR GLASS, NEW DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH AND CATCH, NEW WHEELS, AND TIRES. (WHEELS ARE FORD WHEELS WITH JEEP TO FORD ADAPTERS)
