Up for sale is a 1948 CJ-2A. The vehicle was purchased in 1998 and I intended on building it into a mudder Jeep to take to northern Michigan. The Jeep has 34" Super Swamper TSL's on the original wheels.
Previous owner installs:
Dana 27 front has locking hubs, roll cage bolted to body (not frame) under seat gas tank removed and replaced with spun aluminum tank in back bed, original seats replaced with more modern seats backs. I removed the shag carpeting from the jeep for you.The tailgate was also removed and replaced with sheet metal. I have an original Willys tailgate that I can include with the purchase. Looks like some gauges may have been replaced. The original windshield is gone and was replaced as well. Someone stole the top off the jeep from where I have it stored.
I had the jeep running about 12 years ago and just ran out of time to work on it. Some brake lines were replaced, tires put on. Shackle lifts were installed as well. It was also repainted in sand/tan color that is now peeling. There are areas on the side panels that were either fiberglassed or bondoed by the previous owner as magnets don't stick.
Floorboards are still intact. Original data plate on firewall. The front bumper is the bed of the jeep, but was never installed.I think this jeep would be a good starter or basis for a fun ride for someone who has the time, which I no longer have.
I would prefer pick-up by the buyer so I do not have to coordinate with a shipping company.
