Condition:I see a lot of listings who just throw up a couple pics and a single sentence. I take care of my vehicles and I believe when one is looking to buy a vehicle they need to know as much as possible. My desire is to be honest and raw about everything I know about this Jeep, especially one so nice. If something is awesome I'll tell you, if there's a flaw I'll make sure you know about it so you can decide to live with it, fix it if need be, or move on to the next listing.
Mechanical workings and rust:Rust for the age and region is in good shape, no holes or rotted out tub/frame/etc. Everyone who has worked on the Jeep has said rust levels are of no concern, far below average, and surface only. POR-15 (Paint Over Rust) has been applied to the frame with tremendous care and detail. Mechanically I have had 0 issues. I make a habit of asking anyone who works on the car to let me know about "areas to improve" and I always get reassuring feedback. I regularly change the oil (synthetic) and clean air filter at least every 4000 miles, but often more frequently. I vacuum and wash the Jeep pretty often, it is well taken care of.
A common question for cars, "Anything wrong with it?", and here is the answer to the best of my knowledge: .First off, for those who wonder why I'm selling if it's such a great car, it's because we need something bigger... more kid-worthy. That's it.Brakes could use replacing. Hasn't been a hindrance to me with the manual.Tiny road chips on the hood, see pics.Random light scratches here and there, regular wear and tear only in the top layer. Silver color covers up everything well.Missing the inner rubber gasket behind the windshield border, it kept falling off so I took it out. Not a concern for leaking or anything like that, purely cosmetic.
History:When I purchased this a year ago I ran a Carfax and it displayed 2 accidents within 2 years of its birth, yellow flags and evidently minor fender benders as there was no major damage reported, no salvage, no total, just bad luck. I could tell nothing except that it was hit on 2 separate corners. I had itthoroughlyinspected before purchase at 2 independent shops. Each shop said they could tell where paint was fixed up and fully assured me the frame and front end had no major issues, "You've got yourself a good Jeep" was said more than once. I've had it aligned and all dimensions are in spec. I took the risk of possibly buying a "lemon"... and after all these inspections and driving it for a year I can confidently say this is a solid Jeep with no major (if any!) issues. Carfax shows this as a very clean vehicle in the summary but it's up to you if you want to walk away. The next guy will get this nice piece of TJ history.
Misc. items here at the bottom, it may interest you or mean nothing but it's down here because it doesn't affect value much- it just is.Kenwood radio with Aux in and bluetoothPolk DB521 and DB651 speakers (sound great in open wind and highway speeds)1.5" lift by previous owner, been great for me31" BFGs (good amount of tread left)Dick Cepek DC-2 Black wheels (not perfect, but look great)Rear seat bench (can you believe some people don't have their rear seats included??) and seat covers for ALL seats includedDelrin door inserts for ease of door removal/installation"Hood Wrangler" hood clamps to eliminate hood buffeting you find on the highwayNew-to-me side steps, nice textured black finish
I've always subscribed to the idea that you should add items to a Jeep for function, and the form will create itself into YOUR Jeep. With a stock one like this, it will be yours in no time.
This is the end of my listing, please ask any questions you may have, I will get back to you ASAP.
