1 of a kind LS 6.0L powered 2001 Jeep Cherokee SportA 2 owner, very clean Jeep Cherokee Sport with an incredibly powerful LS 6.0L LQ9. It is fun to drive and gets a lot of attention. When I pull into a gas station or carwash people always come up to me and ask if I have something hidden under the hood. They first hear thesound, then see the huge 3" tailpipe and notice the hood louvers. This Jeep is really fun to drive especially in the mountains, there is no hill to big for it to keep up with traffic. It gets up and go's. I do not know the MPG.
This Cherokee prior to installing the 6L had very low miles, only 723xx on the clock and since has less then 950. At the time of the conversion the stock 4.0Lcylinderand automatic transmission were sold.
Motor:
Freshly built short block LS 6.0L LQ9 motor taken out of a 2002 Cadillac Escalade. The block was taken to a engine Builder in Arizona (top Gear motorsports). Top Gear completely overhauled it with new parts. It has approximately 350 Horsepower at the crank and was tuned at 1100' inelevation(115 degrees in Arizona) on 87 octane but we have always put 91octane fuel in it. With additional timing tuning and relocating the cold air intake or opening up some flow Top Gear said the motor is capable of 420-430hp at the crank as it sits. It sounds incredible and starts right up. The motor is powerful and has absolutely no problem driving. I do not notice any leaks on the ground anywhere. Top Gear charges $18-22k for similar LS V8 conversions.
Transmission/Drivertrain/suspension/Transfer Case:
Has the heavy duty 4L65E automatic 4 speed overdrive transmission. Top Gear Motorsports rebuilt it at the same time as the motor and it shifts smooth, handles the power without any problems and drives great.
The drivetrain is excellent as well, the rear differential is a Ford 8.8" with 4.56 gears and an ARB air locker. The front differential is the stock Dana 30 with 4.56 gears and a Detroit limited slip.
The transfer case is a stock NP231J with a slip yoke eliminator installed. It shifts easily in and out of 4x4.
Iron Rock Offroad 5.5" Long Arm Suspension lift with Bilstein 5150 shocks. Also sports JKS front sway bar disconnects. The rear sway bar has been removed and is included.
Steering:The Jeep steering is a bit squirrely with the 5.5" lift and power. It does have some bumpsteer and the wheel feels heavy at slower speeds. On the highway it drives nice, I took it to a local shop and he mentioned replacing the front steeringcomponents to change the geometry of the steering components. It drives ok, I'm just used to driving new cars and that was my only complaint. I was told a drop pitman arm will help as well (view photos).
Under Carriage:
The undercarriage and frame are in excellent condition without any rust. This is a Colorado/Arizona Jeep.
Tires/Wheels:
The tires are BF Goodrich All Terrain KO with approx 75-80% tread remaining. The wheels are satin/flat black widow steel wheels 16x8 in great condition.
Body/Paint:
This Jeep is in great condition without any accidents and a cleancarfax. The paint is very shiny, shows lots of luster andreflection It does have paint some light checkering, scratches and oxidation on the hood and has oxidation, clear coat peeling and fading on the roof in a few spots. The rear doors/quarter panels have several small dings on them and the passenger door has a small dent near the body line. The roof has a dent from carrying cargo on the roof rack. The emblems were removed but are included. The plastic side panels were removed and thrown away. (view photos)
Interior:
The interior is very clean. The seats are in great condition, the drivers seat has a small sliver tear on the front and the rear seat on the top has a few small scratch tears in the vinyl. There is an aftermarket CD player. Anantenna plug for a future CB is available under the dash. All lights,gauges, switches, windows, locks, mirrors, AC, horn etc all work perfectly. There is a battery relocation kit for the trunk, this was installed to make room for the LQ9 cold air intake.
The Speed hutgauges include: digital mph, overall trip,elevation (altometer), 1/4 mi & 0-60 timing and clock. What you see in the photo is the mileage and below it is the elevation where I live.
Winch:Includes a used high speed HS9500 winch with a new warn winch controller but you will need mounting bolts and a roller fairlead (not pictured).

This is a very nice, clean and powerful Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ.

All Sales are final, sold as is, where is and without warranty. Please settle all questions and concerns before placing a bid and winning the auction. I do my best to illustrate the Jeeps condition but I may have missed something. It is a used Jeep and 15 years old, it may have imperfections that I may have missed. A $500 non refundable deposit must be paid within 24 hours of auction end time via Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the auction end time by an electronic bank transfer or cash in person. I accept all cashiers/certified checks however they can take up to 2 weeks to process and clear. I will not ship the Jeep or let it go until all funds have cleared. Once funds have cleared I will overnight the title, emissions voucher and bill of sale to you. The Jeep is missing emissions equipment and currently registered in a non emission county of Colorado so I am not responsible for any out of state inspections or emissions requirements including Colorado.
