2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Sport Utility 4-Door Description

Highly desirable and professionally modified 2009 Jeep
I had this Jeep purpose built anticipating rough terrain in Arkansas where we had planned to build a house. The work was all done by professional mechanics and done right. The biggest changes were addition of a Ripp Mods supercharger kit (cost $4,700 before install) that give the Jeep about 100 more horsepower and 100 more foot lbs of torque. I also added 488 gears in front and rear to correct for the bigger wheels and tires (cost $3,500) and a Superwinch to pull myself out if I got in a bind. For creature comforts I added electric door locks, electric windows, and a Pioneer 6100NEX stereo.
Our plans have changed and I will not be taking this off road as planned. In fact, it has never been off road. It has been an asphalt queen driven about six miles each way back and forth to work. I keep it in a garage at home and in the parking garage at work. It has been pampered, but is a stout and reliable Jeep waiting to be unleashed.
If you are reading this far you are interested in a Jeep with more horsepower and torque than the stock 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X. You are also wondering if the modifications will be reliable or slapped together in someone's backyard and not so great. I can assure you that all modifications were installed by professional mechanics and are very reliable. The Jeep has road manners and passes emissions testing here in Texas even with the supercharger. You can drive this on the trails, or your wife can drive this for groceries. It is the best of both worlds - powerful yet easy to drive and reliable.
List of Additions:
  • Ripp Mods supercharger kit (JK Stage 2 Gen 2) installed in 2011 with regular oil changes
  • 488 Gears front and rear - engine runs at 2k RPM at 60 miles per hour which is the same as stock
  • Electric Life windows and door locks
  • Gentex smart mirror with Homelink, compass, and auto dimming
  • Pioneer 6100NEX with Focal Speakers
  • Superwinch 09034 - never used except to test
  • IPF Driving Lights
  • Rugged Ridge Modular rear bumper - black
  • Rockhard full width front bumper
  • Delta Xenon fog lights
You will be happy with this Jeep. It will take you where you want to go when you want to go there. Your wife will be happy that it is easy to drive and simple to maintain. The changes have all been made to make it more durable and useful.
The only known issues are the 12 volt accessory cigarette lighter near the driver side does not work. I also just received a recall notice for the airbags. I can take care of the recall work or you can, either way it is covered by the manufacturer. Other than those two items, the vehicle is all good to the best of my knowledge.
