1972 Jeep CJ Description

PRICE LOWERED- 13800
This jeep is not for everyone. Dual side straight pipes, aggressive cams, and a rebuilt chevy 350 mated to a Muncie 4 speed transmission with a kevlar clutch are just a few of the things that make driving this jeep an experience. This jeep turns heads where ever it goes and is quite a handful to drive. This is NOT your average cj-5. Price has been lowered to 13800 and I am selling because I need to slim the herd. I am located in Northern Virginia, and can show the car in the evenings (send me a message).send me a message with any questions!-yes, the seats are in a fixed position List of modifications during restoration/customizationThis Jeep has undergone a complete, frame-off, custom restoration. It is a 1-of-a-kind Jeep with only about 13000 miles since restoration. This was the 685th CJ5 out of the 22,601 manufactured in 1972. The engine is a Chevy 350, 4-bolt main, completely rebuilt with top-shelf, high performance parts. The estimated HP is around 340 to 370. The motor is bored .30 over and balanced. It is strong and the following is a partial list of parts: Dana 44 -- Rear axle (3.73 gearing and Posi-Traction) with new spider gears Dana 30 -- Front axle (new inner/outer axels, bearings, seals) Rebuilt Dana 20 -- Spicer 6 spline Transfer case. The rebuilt, Muncie, 4-speed manual transmission and the Dana Spicer 20 transfer case were mated with Advance Adapters out of California. It has new spider gears and positive traction. Shifting gears is effortless and smooth as silk with its B&M shifter and Hurst shift kit that was custom fitted. A true, twin stick shifter kit was custom fitted to the Dana 20 to independently switch between rear, 4WD, and front wheel only drive. 1983 GM 350 V-8, Generation 1 (.30 over, 355ci) 4 Bolt Main 7 Quart Oil Pan (Federal-Mogul's Fel-Pro oil gasket #1881) Polished Stainless Steel Headers with custom fitted, Jet-Coated side pipes A Rebuilt, Muncie (GM Syncrho-Mesh SM420) 4-speed manual transmission. The steering system upgrade includes a new power steering pump and high-pressure steel lines. The suspension system also consists of Pacer bullet-style aluminum wheels, and BF Goodrich All Terrain TA's (32x11.5x15's). The entire clutch rod linkage assembly has been replaced with OEM parts that controls a Kevlar Zoom clutch. It has a Jeep steering box and a 79 Jeep Power Disc brake setup with a new break booster. The paint is custom blue on its 1973 Super Jeep dash pad and a Bowtie in the rear with the Jeep logo inside. It has new black stainless side mirrors, chrome front bumper, grab bar, glove box door, frame cover, stainless hood latches, footman loops, and new fender flares, and marker lights. The top is a new Bestop Supertop with full framing. There are no leaks into the cabin and the new and restored heating system keeps it hot and cozy. There are a few small cracks in the body tub paint when you look close but are hard to see unless you are looking real hard. I only mention this because the paint is not perfect. The interior has a custom painted Stars & Stripe scheme on a 1973 Super Jeep dash pad; all new and correctly working gauges including a Sunpro tachometer and Auto Meter Classic gauges. The seats are new FX high back seats with Simpson Racing belts, fabricated center console, chrome grab bar, roll bar, and all new diamond plate floors. A Painless, 12-circuit full wiring harness was installed and sheathed in Painless Power Braiding from bumper-to-bumper. All wiring is new. Front lights are true (high & low beam) Xenon headlights with waterproof ballasts integrated with relays and a new OEM electrical switch. The New Old Stock (NOS) Spartan turn signal unit was used and its wheel signal canceling unit is fully functional. The new steering wheel is OEM and was planted and rewired with an OEM horn button kit that activates a chromed, 'Bad-Boy' air horn. The heating/defrosting system was also restored to fully functional status with fabricated new cables, braided stainless steel hoses, electrical switches, fresh air box, core, blower/fan, electrical wiring and restored control housing. All factory defrost duct work is in place This vehicle passes VA state inspection and does not require an air pollution control system (pre-1973). All gauges work and there are no fluid leaks. Most of the work and all of the electrical was conducted by professional mechanics at hot-rod shops and not by week-end mechanics. This Jeep is a 1-of-a-kind and real head turner! This custom CJ5 runs, drives, handles, brakes, and looks great.Mods in the last few months: New starter, Steering box brace (eliminates some steering play)Asking 13800, considering offers
