2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4-Door Description
The Jeep Cherokee XJ is an icon in the four-wheeling world; the vehicle that started the SUV craze. The XJ has earned an enthusiast following unlike any other SUV by being the “Goldilocks” 4x4; not too big for trails like full-sized rigs, but with more room for buddies and gear than a Wrangler or Samurai.Great examples of the XJ, particularly the more desirable later models, are getting harder and harder to find.2001 was the last year of the XJ and you’d be hard pressed to find a better example of a clean XJ built to its potential than this one.
This isn’t just a lifted Cherokee with new suspension/wheels/tires/bumper like so many others for sale out there. This XJ is built to be extremely capable off-road and still be driven daily. Well-maintained, low-mileage (less than 8,000/year), fully optioned and in great condition (non-smoker), both inside and out (check out the pictures). This XJ has been my daily driver for last 2 years with no mechanical issues. Everything works down to the floor lights, including the A/C and all power options. With the legendary 4.0 inline-6 under the hood, this XJ is peppy and built to be equally comfortable when running errands around town or conquering a challenging trail off-road.
While this XJ is in remarkable shape, it is a 16-year-old off-road vehicle. All known issues are cosmetic with a few chips and light brush marks in the paint (you can see in the pictures). I’ve left the vehicle in its current cosmetic condition since the marks are superficial, don’t require repair, and the XJ will likely gather similar marks when it goes off-road in the future. The vehicle does have wear and tear as expected on a used vehicle; however, it is minimal. Call or text Jay at 817.807.7744 with questions.
