1973 Jeep CJ5 Base Description

I will attempt to give the most honest and accurate description of my pride and joy.
This is a 1973 Jeep CJ5, factory 304ci V8 with a Holley 2bbl 350 CFM carburetor(electric choke). Factory 3 speed manual transmission and transfer case, and factory Dana 44 rear, 35 Front. It has fender exit headers with dual Thrush Turbo mufflers. I purchased this Jeep to pull behind my motor home and therefore has two Blue Ox mounting points attached to the front bumper. I've pulled it across America with no problems. I've done a lot of work on this Jeep and have used it as a daily driver for almost a year now with no real issues.
The following items have been replaced within the past 12 months:
NEW: Holley carburetor, Spectra reusable air filter, masterbrake cylinder, Skyjacker 7000 series shocks andsteering stabilizer, clutch, all fluids, some body mount bushings( I have the rest, haven't installed, included) suspension bushings, e-brake components, rear wheel bearings, front and rear U-Joints,complete soft top and doors (Best Top).
Here's the Good: It starts and drives wonderful, no smoke or any major issues. From the day I bought it, I immediately changed the oil to the high zinc formula that was required for these engines back in the day andhave no issue buying this at Wal-Mart. The transmission shifts well and the transfer case engages in all gears. I replaced the seals on the transmission and transfer case last fall when I replaced the clutch and the inner gears showed no signs of damage what-so-ever, although normal wear was noted for a 44 year old machine. The front wheel manual locks engage/disengage per your setting and the knob turns with ease. No cancerous rust. The charging system keeps a steady 13.5-14 charging volts and the oil pressure maintains a 20-40 psi during operation.
And the Bad: Thereare a couple of minor oil leaks on the engine (around the oil filter housing and rear seal), I haven't changed the seals only because it is so minor it's not worth my time, yet. No horn installed (the wiring harness is present, another one of those low priorities). The paint job is cool; the previous owner used Durabak 18 Grey for the exterior and Durabak 18 Black for the interior. It is a durable marine grade paint and has held up well, though I do not believe a lot of prep work went in to the application process; in other words, the Jeep is sexy from twenty feet, but upon close examination, you will see the imperfections. As stated in the "good", there is no cancerous rust that I have noticed, but she does have some light surface rust here and there and is overall solid. I don't know its exact mileage; the original speedometer has just over 150,000 miles on it and I've put on about 6,000 miles on it. The speedometer mostly works, the needle sometimes bounces when driving down the road between 20-50 mph. There are some dents and dings, the most noticeable is the front left fender, though I think it gives it character.
Included in the sale is a new BFG/AT 31" spare tire, original Motorcraft 2100 carburetor and air cleaner housing, the remainder replacement body and suspension bushings, the pictured fuel can and the Hi-lift style jack.
If I had to drive this Jeep from east coast to west coast today, I would do a fresh oil change, check the fluids and tire pressure, and roll out with full confidence. That being said, I am selling this Jeep in an "As Is" condition and in no way make or imply any warranties. I love this Jeep and am an honest man, she's not perfect...but is a fine example of a classic American product.
The buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping and the associated arrangements. I will be selling this Jeep through various means and reserve the right to end the auction early at anytime. I will gladly answer any additional questions and provide more photos if time permits.
