************************. ************************It doesn't get much better than this one owner 1981 CJ-5 "survivor". It has been in California since new and is 100% rust free without a spec of rust or repair. There is not a single touch up spot or repainted panel anywhere on the Jeep. The original"copper brown metallic" (color code#1E) paint finish has a lovely shine with just the right amount of patina. The Jeep has a tremendous amount of character. The wheel wells and undercarriage still have the original paint in spectacular condition (see pics). There are no dents and there is a small tear in the metal on the drivers fender approx 1/2 inch. Otherwise there are just minimal chips, nicks, scratches hazin, fading, etc. The overall appearance is outstanding and this Jeep gets a 10 for it's originality and authenticity. The odometer reading is 50,663, however due to the 5 digit odometer we have no way to verify the actual mileage.

-The tires are still perfectly usable for now, however we recommend new tires soon.

-Super clean engine compartment with well sorted belts, hoses andaccessories

-All emblems and trim are present

-Some if the plastic wheel well moldingshave some minor cracks and imperfections (readily availableinexpensively on eBay or other venues)

The interior is in great shape (see pics). The original seat upholstery is near flawless. Front windshield weatherstripping/cowl-hood rubber is in great shape. The carpeting is excellent and the original dash does not have a single crack. The soft top (clear plastic windows) and soft half doors are in A+ condition. The top half of the doors are not present.

Mechanically the CJ is superb. The 4.2 lt inline 6 starts right up, is in good tune and runs extremely well. The idle is smooth and steady. The Jeep does has no noticeableleaks and does not smoke or overheat. As with any 35+ year old original vehicle it is expected that there will always be something that needs attention (gaskets, rubber items, seals, etc). The clutch is perfect and shifting through the 4 speed manual transmission is almost effortless. The 4x4 (with locking hubs) engages properly. All mechanical, electrical and climate control systems are in top notch condition. The brakes, (power) steering and suspension all felt great when tested. Heater box is all in tact. All of the gages show normal readings. The Jeep is a blast to drive always gets compliments.

This Jeep CJ-5 is probably one of the most well preserved Jeeps available. You would be hard pressed to find another one this nice and untouched. It is turn key and ready to be enjoyed now! We enjoyed our time with this CJ and hope the next owner/operator will appreciate it as much as we do. This is a NO RESERVE auction so the high bidder will decide the price and become the new owner.

California buyers, or if you plan on picking up in California you will be responsible for full price of motor vehicle + tax, title, registration (current or past due, smog (we provide) *if applicable), transfer, DMV and all other fees associated with the sale in California. Out of state or country buyers only pay for the price of the vehicle with no other fees.

Title transfer and smog takes up to10 business days "only" if you are in California. Vehicle must be paid for in full prior to title transfer.
