1997 Jeep Wrangler Description

I am selling a new build of a classic Wrangler that only needs a few items to complete. I simply have lost the desire to bring it to the finish line... The list of parts is endless and total over $18K (parts only) because there is nothing but quality parts used on this Jeep. Let's start with the engine.... No 4 or 6 cylinder here but a GM Goodwrench 5.7L (350) crate motor from Jegs. To keep the RPMS down on the highway, that beast is mated to a 700R4 which sports a0.67 overdrive ratio and Lokar shifter. The engine outputs a healthy 300HP/300 FTLBs to keep the Jeep moving with ease. Other cool things (pun intended) to keep things long lasting is the Superior Radiator custom built radiator and fan combination good up to 550 HP!! The transmission also gets special attention to keep it moving through the slow rock crawling with a fan-cooled radiator of its own. The engine has an Edelbrock off road carb on an RPM air gap polished manifold. Fuel pressure is controlled by dialing back the new in tank fuel pump to the 6PSI needed to keep the carb happy. The fuel and transmission lines are all stainless braided with AN fittings to protect it while off-road.

The frame is completely rust free and is coated internally with a WaxOyl product to keep it that way for years to come. Factory mounts were removed and a Terraflex Pro Long arm kit was installed with the 4 link rear option removing any need for a rear tracbar and allowing it to flex like crazy.Bilstein shocks are matched with Nth Degree 4.5" coil springs to round out the suspension modifications. For the steering, the factory wimpy steering gearbox was replaced with a new, beefier unit made for a Dodge Durango to help steer those nice, new 35x12.50 Cooper ST MAXX mud radials. To assist further with the turning duties, a Terraflex heavy duty crossover steering kit was added to replace the crazy "Y" design of the factory. A JKS trac bar was modified with a monster QA1 rock joint on the end to make the tracbar and the drag link perfectly parallel to each other and near parallel to the ground. The final piece of the suspension certainly worth mentioning is the ORO Swaylok air lock/unlock, dual rate sway bar system.

Turning those tires you will find the Artec trussed, welded housing of a Ford 8.8 Explorer with its beefy 31 spline axles, disk brakes and new Ford Motorsports posi-traction unit made for a Cobra Mustang. All new bearings, rotors, brakes, etc.... means that this one is built to last. Turning that pinion is a Tatton 1350 CV driveshaft connected to a rebuilt and flipped Dana 300, twin-stick transfer case. The front axle is a beefed up D30 with a G2 welded truss and heavy duty ball joints. Stainless brake hoses on all four corners of the all-new braking system ensure that this hauler stops as well as it goes.

As you sit on the new Trek armor seat covers and start the beast, you will hear the sounds of a 2 into 1 flowmaster custom bent exhaust system start purring beautiful sounds of a healthy V8. As you look around the cab, you will notice the Omega gauge package replacing the boring factory pod as it comes to life. No worries about safety as the fully welded custom cage with harness bar keeps you secure in the event you aren't as good as you think you are. As the sun tries to beat down and fry your skin, you will be thankful for the spiderweb shade, which provides you protection while still beingfree to the outdoors. In case that rain does fall, the brand new Smittybuilt top quality soft top will keep things cozy inside with the glass slider uppers on factory steel door lowers. Parts needing addressing in my opinion:

The Jeep has a driveline vibration that only occurs when accelerating up to about 20-25 MPH.....

The speedometer is not registering even with the new GPS sending unit

The carb needs a good tuner, I have all the available jets, needles and squirters for it but it needs a pro to do it right.

There is no compressed air system on board to activate the sway bar disconnects so it will always be locked for on road use until air is supplied. The parts are there to switch it back to a manual system.
