1970 Jeep J3000 Truck Pickup Description

For sale: For sale: 1970 Jeep J3000 Gladiator 4x4 dry western survivor. Last of the Rhino grille Jeeps, built in 1969 and sold new January 5, 1970 to a Paso Robles, California gentleman. He enjoyed the truck for some 20 years, then sold to a woman who needed a rig that would pull her 1 horse trailer to equine events. The Jeep later followed her career to the high desert of Montana, where I purchased it. I'm the third owner. Very dry truck with only minimal surface rust. One repaint about 30 years ago, driver quality. Truck was used as a backup driver and wood/dump hauler the last 20 years, and has only accumulated about 20k miles in that time. Currently showing 171k mostly highway miles, the engine was rebuilt at a cost of $2106 (receipt included) at 151k miles in 1996. Really a clean old truck that still has all it's original equipment including the spare tire carrier underneath. Very well documented with original manuals, owner warranty info and original window sticker. Original price was $4378 and that was a lot of money in 1969/70. Exterior: Pretty straight old truck, usual small dings from use, most notably on tailgate. One dent in passenger door from catching the mirror on a tree, it's noticeable. Very dry truck with only minor surface rust here and there and a couple of very small blisters on passenger box, see Photobucket pics linked below. Some cracks in rear corner of bed floor from a bolt-in toolbox. Truck was repainted once about 30 years ago, looks great from 20 feet but small areas have peeled in spots. Very presentable for trips to the Home Depot or to the Steak N Shake with the wife. Overall clean truck that draws a crowd wherever I stop.

Interior: Original in decent driver condition. Presents well overall. Original dash is not cracked, has some mild sun warping. Original seat upholstery is ripped/worn on driver side under the cover. Original headliner and floor mat in good condition. Steering wheel has the usual crack. Most everything working, see list below.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out well. As stated above, 350 Dauntless engine was rebuilt 20k miles and 20 years ago. No major leaks, noises, or smoke. 4x4 works fine in high and low range. Most everything works, see list below. 16" Toyo ten ply tires are mounted on original Jeep wheels and have no cracks and maybe one season of tread left. Truck was well cared for over the years, whatever was needed got done by professional mechanic. Many receipts for work included. Overall good driver ready to use as is.

TRUCK RUNS WELL but flying in and driving it home a long distance probably isn't a good idea. Montana is a rural state with long stretches of desolate highway with poor cell service. Reasonable transport is available. Title is clear and in my name.
