JEEP CJ-5 FOR PROJECT OR PARTS, CLEAR TITLE INCLUDED
This was a project that I began about 25 years ago. Unfortunately, when the Jeep was at this point in the build (1996), it was the victim of a flood - This Jeep was completely submerged under water!
Some time after the flood this Jeep was then stored in a box trailer and there it has sat for the past 20 years! It was skidded and removed from the trailer this past week (June 21st) as I have lost any interest in ever finishing this project. The Jeep is currently covered and is not exposed to the elements - so what you see is exactly what you will get.
IT SHOULD BE ASSUMED THAT EVERYTHING MECHANICAL (SUCH AS BEARINGS)HAS BEEN WATER DAMAGEDTO SOME EXTENT AND I MAKE NO GUARANTEES AS TO THE CURRENT CONDITION OR WISH TO IMPLY THAT THERE IS NOT SERIOUS DAMAGE UNSEEN TO ANY OF THE COMPONENTS - SO KEEP THIS IN MIND IF YOU DECIDE TO BID!
THIS JEEP IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND SALE IS FINAL - NO REFUNDS!
At one time this Jeep had beautiful 15x14 Indy mag wheels and 38" tires on it until thieves broke in the trailer and relieved me of them - that is why it's now sitting on a skid.
Now on to the specifics for this Jeep. Everything described below was done 21+ years ago:
- Original rust free body tub, windshield frame, grille & hood that have been sandblasted and Variprimed - no front fenders.
- Original rust free undamaged chassis that has been sandblasted, Variprimed and painted with Centari acrylic enamel with hardner. The chassis has not been modified or altered in any way!
- Warn 8000 lb. winch with factory Warn mount.
- Completely rebuilt (pre-flood) Dana 44 rear & Dana 30 front axles (3:73 gears - I think) with custom axle trusses, new Selectro front lock out hubs and have had 11/16" wheel studs installed - You will need to use wheels that were designed for early shank style lug nuts or have wheels bored to accommodate an 11/16" stud. The bolt/lug pattern is 5 on 5.5" (the same folks that took the wheels liked the lugs nuts as well, so I have no lug nuts for this). Note: The differential covers were pulled after the flood to let the water out and are in included.
- New (pre-flood) Skyjacker 4" spring lift & shocks with custom made HD shackles.
- Completely rebuilt (pre-flood) 304 V8 engine, .030 over, Comp Cams camshaft (I can't remember the specs.), ARP rod bolts, completly balanced assembly, new valves, valve guides, Edelbrock Performer intake, water pump, etc. you name it! Engine has never been run since rebuild. Note: The engine was drained of water & filled with Diesel fuel after the flood.
- Completely rebuilt (pre-flood) transmission (3 speed) and transfer case, new bearings etc. The clutch and pressure plate were new as well. Note: The trans & transfer case were drained of water and then filled with Diesel fuel after the flood.
- Completely rebuilt and adjusted (pre-flood) steering gearbox, new ball joints, etc.
- Custom built 3" dia. DOM steel tubing roll cage - The roll cage has not been welded together or tied in to the frame, some parts have been tack welded together and others have been simply taped in place to give an idea of what it would look like when done. All of the tube ends have been precision coped and are fitted for assembly.
- Included (NOT IN THE FLOOD), but not pictured either, are a pair of Cobra racing seats along with RJS Cam-Lock 5 point racing harnesses.
