1980 Lancia DELTA S4 STRADALE Description

You are looking at a 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Stradale (road version). Immaculate condition, and very rare. Ebay does not recognize certain vin numbers, this is NOT a 1980 model year car.
This is 1 of ONLY 3Lancia Delta S4 in Argento Metallizzato (metallic silver) color ever made with a beautiful hand made, handstitched, red Alcantara interior. Most of these Delta S4's were made in red, along with some in white exterior colors. This car is ALL original, numbers matching, andhasONLY 783 kms (486 miles)...this is a Grade 1 car, a concours grade car.
Description:
Between October 1985 and 1986 Lancia built 200 examples of a road-going version of the Delta S4, officially namedLancia Delta S4but widely known as "Stradale", for the purpose ofhomologationinGroup Bworld rally championshipof the infamous S4 Rallye or "Corse" car.
Today less than 100 Lancia Delta S4 "Stradale" remain in private collections.
In Italy during those years, the car was priced at about 100 millionLire:[5]five times the price of the most expensiveDeltaof the time, the HF Turbo.

The Stradale's chassis was aspace frame, similarly to the racing cars, built out ofCrMo steeltubes andaluminium alloyfor the crash structures; it was covered byepoxyandfiberglassbody panels. Like the rally car these cars mounted in a midships position a 1.8-litre engine, equipped withWeber-MarelliIAW integrated electronicignitionandfuel injection, asupercharger, andturbochargerand twointer-coolers, thus calling it "Twin Charged". In road tune the 1.8 produced 250PS (184kW; 247hp)at 6750 rpm and 291N·m (215lb·ft) at 4500 rpm (the rally car had over 600 hp).The "Stradale" kept a three differentialfour-wheel-drivesystem; the center differential sent 30% of the engine torque to the frontopen differential, and 70% to the rearlimited slipone.

Lancia claimed the car could reach top speed of 225km/h (140mph) and accelerate from standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in 5.7 seconds. In contrast to its bare bones racing sisters, the S4 Stradale featured anAlcantara-upholstered interior, sound deadening, asuedesteering wheel, and was equipped withpower steering,trip computerandair conditioning.
