1980 Land Rover Defender Description

1986 110 3.5 V-8 CSW with a 5 speed.This would be a good starting point for a restoration or an LS swap!
The good:- Already in the states at my house in TN. Currently registered, with a clear TN title. My wife has power of attorney and can sign the title. We also have a neighbor that is a notary and can notarize the title if your state requires that.- New Raptor Engineering Binnacle (Dash) and surround. Also has the Raptor Engineering Center Console with a brand new Kenwood stereo, CD, AUX, USB inputs. I added the Raptor Engineering dash cover on the passenger side, it really cleans up the dash.- I just put on brand new wolf wheels.- Rusty “C” pillars were replaced with YRM replacements, while I was in there I replaced the middle row floor upstands and front of the rear seat boxes and the “C” pillar trim piece.-New side triangles (below middle doors)-Passenger side footwell was repaired.-New Rocksliders.-Power steering pump and tie rods just replaced.-I replaced the shoddy hard back front seats with a pair of LR modular seats finished with techno cloth. I have them covered with covers to keep them nice.-Used Rugged Trail swing away tire mount so not to put weight on the rear door.-Rear door is in great shape.
The not so good:· The front passenger door needs a bottom rail put in.-The middle doors are rusty on the bottom, but they are fixable.· It does have 235K miles, but it doesn't run like it.-The rear crossmember needs to be replaced, not going to sugar coat it. It was patched to pass the MOT, but it needs replacing.- It could use new shocks and coil springs, I never got around to them.
I am located in east TN, an hour and 15 minutes east of Knoxville and an hour north of Asheville, NC. This has been my project truck since October of 2014 in the UK and the only reason I am selling it as the job I was going to take in Florida has fell through and Ihave returned to the UK to my old job. My wife won’t drive it like it needs to be driven and I don’t want to let it sit for a year to a year and a half.
Please don't bid if you don't have the cash. Ask your wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, mother, father, children, dog, etc if you need their permission to buy this. Most banks are not going to loan money on a 30 year old car.
If you have never picked up a wrench, this is not the vehicle for you. This is not a new Prious, its a 30 year old Land Rover that will require some fiddling with occasionally. This is a perfect base for a restoration as alot of the hard work has been already completed. This is NOT a restored Land Rover that everything is perfect, those Defenders sell for $60,000. This is an entry level one that you can work on and make better as you go along.
$500 non returnable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. Remaining balance within 7 days of auction ends. Truck will not leave my property unless paid in full by cash or wire transfer. We can help assist with shipping.
Vehicle is sold as is, where is.
I don't mean to put so much in this add but there is alot of people on eBay that bid for fun.
Cheers,Eric
