1974 Land Rover Other Description
Nice, tidy example of an original 12 volt, 1974 military Land Rover.
The body panels are straight, paint is the usual military green, but not glopped on 12 layers thick.
There is galvanic corrosion on the sides of the rear tub as seen in the photos.
The chassis is solid and has never been patched. Some of the undercoating has come off and the original black paint is still visible underneath.
The bulkhead is also in good shape, there was some corrosion in the drivers footwell but it has been cut out and patched.
The middle and rear exhaust sections and all the hangers have been replaced with new parts from Rovers North.
It has a new fuel pump fitted.
Both the underseat fuel tanks are functional and a rebuilt tank change over switch has been installed.
It has a new alternator.
All new brake lines and cylinders.
The rims were stripped and powdercoated.
The 3rd/ 4th syncro in the gearbox was replaced and at the time a new clutch was installed.
New front door tops.
It starts, runs and stops well.
Everything electrical is functional.
It has free wheeling hubs fitted and the transfer case cover has been replaced with the aluminum ribbed one from Rocky Mountain.
The PVC soft top is in very good condition and does not leak.
NOTE ---- The truck cab in the last photo is also for sale separately.
It has been stripped and painted bronze green. The roof has been painted to match the rims.
All new window and truck cab seals.
