2000 Land Rover Discovery Series II Description

This 2000 Land Rover Discovery II
Here is an auction with a twist. We want to start out by saying that this auction has NO RESERVE. Selling a vehicle that is less than perfect, but it starts, runs, stops and safe to drive. We wouldn't sell a car that is not safe, but it is less than perfect. I am used to selling cars that are pretty much perfect, like classics and cars that have been well kept and maintained in good condition. Not to scare you, but this car has some issues, but if you think you can handle it, then maybe this might be the one for you.
The pictures make it look better than it is, what a phrase that is. Up for auction is this 2000 Land Rover Discovery II. Over time the factory Burgundy paint shows wear in several areas and is showing it's age. The body is straight. It has a broken out side marker on the right front corner, the left front headlight has a crack in it. The windshield has been etched by a bad wiper at the bottom portion. The driver seat leather is coming undone, from just normal wear.. The tires are good, the brakes are good. There are some lights that are on, on the dash, so it looks like some electrical issues may need to be worked out. There is no engine light on, so that is a plus. It comes with two sunroofs and they both work. One shade is broken. It does come with a working tonneau cover in the back. The engine and transmission seem to be working good right now. Seems to drive okay. The interior is fair, the headliner is just starting to come down, but not enough to notice. The Stereo actually works and sounds pretty good. The wood is very dry and peeling in places, the console where you put the windows up and down is coming apart. Both front seats are power and seem to be working, the right mirror does not adjust as well as the driver mirror. Believeit or not, the air conditioning, actually works and gets really cold, it might just be worth to buy it for a car with working air conditioning, right? There is value in this SUV, you just have to look for it.
Land Rovers were built to use in so many ways, such as, ranches, homes in the country, farms, homes at the lake, cabin up in the mountains, beaches, you name it, they can just about go anywhere. Why did I bring that up,well, you might be thinking what you would do with a Land Rover and so I just gave you some ideas of where you could take it and have fun with it.
Take a good look at the pictures, You can see the worn paint, the engine compartment looks good, It steers and drives straight, suspension seems to be working, no brokenbushings are noted, It seems to handle the corners okay when driving. It's not a bad vehicle, it just needs some work to bring it back, and could become a good daily driver for awhile, as you fix it up as it goes. If you are looking for an inexpensive vehicle, than, this may be the one for you, Of course knowing how to work on these Land Rovers could be a plus for you too.
The Discovery
The first generation Discovery was from 1989 to 1998 and had the option of a four cylinder engine. The second generation Discovery was from 1998 to 2004, The second generation bosted of 720 changes from the previous generation. It became a little more luxurious and less utilitarian. Land Rover added more space to the rear with an overhang which at timesmade it difficult in handling when off-roading, The second generation came with the Range Rover P38 Thor 4.0 Litre Rover derived V8. There was no actual increase in capacity over the previous 3.9 litre engine in the first generation, but machined differently to accept extra sensors for the Gems and Bosch (Thor) injection system and to allow the extra stroke of the 4.6 Crankshaft.
