1973 Land Rover Series III Description

please read the entire description before bidding
The vehicle was tagged odometer exempt when I got it. The odometer seems to work, but I don't know this history on that. The mileage on the gauge today is 75,995.I have had this Land Rover for a few years. I recently purchased a Defender, so now it's just taking up space. Here are the details:
It runs, shifts into all gears, high and low, and 2 and 4 wheel drive. The spring that holds the shifter uprights seems to have broken so the lever is a bit floppy, but it shifts fine.
I have periodically run and driven the vehicle over the last few years to keep everything oiled and fresh. I noticed it was having a bit of an issue with the carburetor which turned out to be some bad fuel. I ordered a full carb rebuild kit anyway as it's old and needs it.
the starter is strong and the alternator seems to charge the battery well, which stays charged after months of sitting so I don't believe there are any wires grounding out. 2 years ago all the exterior lights worked, now a few don't. I don't know if this is due to a bad ground or a burned out bulb. I haven't had the time to look.
The frame is in very good shape for a Land Rover, especially one this old. There are a few small rust holes, but nothing that can't be easily fixed, with the exception of the rear outriggers that the springs attach to. They're not in any danger of collapsing tomorrow, but this auction includes two new galvanized outriggers that can be put on by a body shop.
The bulkhead is in decent shape. The vehicle stays dry inside in the rain, there don't appear to be any leaks. The front of the bulkhead around the vents where land rovers always rot has been repaired (before I bought it). The welds can be ground down, if you care.
The driver's side window has a broken stud, which can be repaired easily, so there is only one out of two right now holding it to the door.
The side of the bulkhead where the doors attach is solid but has some rust issues. If you desire, you can order two new bulkhead ends from Rovers North for around $225 that can be welded on.
I have bought things on ebay and been disappointed because the description isn't as honest as it can be so I feel the above full disclosure is only fair. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK BEFORE BIDDING. THIS IS A USED VEHICLE WITH NO WARRANTY AND THE SALE IS FINAL. IT is by no means a perfect specimen, but it's also in pretty decent running shape for it's age and with a little work would pass inspection.
THE RESERVE IS LOW. i'm only looking to get back what I spent on it.
