1989 Land Rover Range Rover Classic (RRC) Description

**************************** PLEASE WAIT FOR THE PHOTOS; I HAVE TWO DOZEN PHOTOS TO BE POSTED LATER TODAY WHEN I GET OFF DUTY. THANKS ! ***************************************************************

CLEAN,California rust-free1989 LandRover Range Rover County Edition. The thirdyear of theClassic in Long Wheelbase ( SWB) configuration which was sold in the U.S for only 9 years, starting in 1987 with the first year of U.S importation, through early 1995.

The 1989 is the last year of the very simple non-Antilock ABS brake system.Aside from that, it retains all the traditional Range Rover styling and design that began in 1970 and continued on until 1995 ( the last year of the iconic Classic ), when they were discontinued and the SWB went on to become automotive history.

This SWB is a VERY CLEAN, TWO-OWNERCalifornia SWB Classic, residing initially in Marin county shortly after purchase at Salt Lake City LandRover by the original owners, a winery in Napa. It was subsequentlypurchasedby the second owner in Sonoma, and it has been in the bay area all of its life since. It scores an AUTOCHECK score of52! in a 32-56 rating scale.

The Range Rover is a Countymodel.Completely stock andoriginalSWB, withlow 135K original miles. It starts, idles and drivesgreat. In addition, it has the factory-installed SAFARI GUARD and front-headlamp guards,HELLA 520 auxiliary lights, CARELLO driving headlights, a set of secondary foglights & factory tow package. Rare front factory chrome bumper.

There isNOrustnor corrosion on this vehicle, as it wouldbe expected from a California-lived RRC ( hard-pressed condition to find in anyClassic beyond the Sierra mountains).BEWARE OF RUST BUCKETS EAST OF THE WEST COAST~!

This SWB comes equipped with all the comforts, standard features and amenities of its time, along with the factory-installed OEM Safari brushguard and Tow package.Nice set ofTOYO radial tires( approximately 70% of tread left) mounted on aset offactoryalloy wheels.

NEVER altered or lifted.NO NIGHTMARISH EAS to contend with, as this SWB Classic has always been a NON-EAS normal coil & strut suspension ( like all pre-1995s). Therefore, NO air-deflation nor malfunction or depressuration nightmaresto contend with ever!It had a new set of stronger EMU coils and struts installed about five years ago, and it still rides very nicely.

Stock 3.9L engine runs EXCELLENT. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, the 3.9L was a vast improvement over the early 3.5engines as it was more robust and had more torque as a result of engine redesigning to increase displacement to a more efficient, reliable motor.

NO overheating issues, tickingnor any internal noisesto contend with.LOW 135Koriginal miles, better than average for any Land Rover.

Automatic transmission shifts well into all gears. Low and High transfer cases work fine. Four-wheel Power disc brakes ( the simple NON-ABS system),Power steering, Power windows andPower heated seats, Sliding sunroofand Power mirrors ( one is finicky).

Finish isVERY NICE considering this RRC is nearly twenty-eight years young ! Itsoriginal paint in the desirable Chamonix-White finishstill shines remarkably well for an unrestored Rangie.

There isabsolutely NO clearcoatflaking, hazing nor damage to thefinish on the roof, hood or filler panel areas, common on many Rovers, specially East Coast examples where the elements and salted roads have taken their toll on the body panels and undercarriage,a hindrancenearly impossible to repair!

The original Connolly tan upholstery is ingood condition and has held upsurprisingly well. There are no cracks or tears on any of the leather in the seats. BOTH front seats are ingood condition, with no splits, tears or seam separation.Headliner hasbeen professionally refinished from end to end ( including the sunroof shade), and it looks GREAT.

In addition, this SWB still has therare-as-hen's-teeth foldable rear cargo cover, almost always missing or usually broken in all Range Rover Classics.

Overall, a very clean interior, door panels, factory carpetingandtrunk area. The photos show the Rangie accurately. NON SMOKER vehicle always.

Solid unrestored 89' Range Rover County Classic. It's aclean originalSWB, with excellentmiles and the good 3.9L engine, and the uncolmplicated NON-ABS brake system. It runs very well with a strong, solid powertrain. Clean chassis, no tweaks and NO rust and still all-original interior. It will make a great traveler, off-roader or camping Rangie with some minor personal touches.

I've been around Land Rovers for over 30 years, and have owned various models and vintages. Classics are the best investment for the money, specially rust-freeSWBs. SERIOUS inquiries ONLY, please.

I do not need nor like to photoshoppictures, depict fancy photographic shoots, scenic backdrops, what other Range Rovers look like restored, nor embellish what I sell. My reputation, my feedback and my seller history speak for themselves. And I alsoAM a real Rover enthusiast.

Unlike the vast majority of Ebay sellers who simply sell what they do not know ( let alone car dealers!), I actually own a Land Rover ( actually, I own anotherSWB,an LWB, a 2010 Sport and two DIIs) and I am fairly familiar with all their quirks.

Feel free to call me with questions at (650) 430-4660 PST. I have priced this Classic SWB fairly and way below-market to sell, as it is a nice unrestored example of a clean, rust-freeRRC. A minty Classicwould be way over $15K to start. And done on someone else's taste, not yours.

ThisClassic hasa clear California title and currently registered in CA until the end of May of2017. In addition, it recently ( less than 30 days ago) passed its latest stringent CA Emissions test with flying colors.

I am also advertising this vehicle in other venues, and as such, Ireserve the right to end this listing at any time, should a serious offer or a BUY-IT-NOW opportunity present itself.

Range Rover Classics are getting harder and harderto find, specially in original, unaltered condition and in SWB configuration. They are nearly impossible to find without them being all rusted out, or having to pay a premium for a clean example.

Simply put, there is nothing cooler and classier than a stock, original Range Rover Classic. Period.

Or you can drive a Prius or a Honda Civic, like everyone else.

I shall be glad to assist coordinating shipping of this Range Rover anywhere nationwide or overseas, at the most economical shipping rate available. Please be aware, I do not control pick up or delivery times should you purchase it; that is pending weather conditions and shipping/ trucking delivery schedules.

Of note: Do not calculate shipping cost based on the Ebay calculator. Shipping to just about anywhere on the East coast is less than $1000. Other parts of the U.S closer to California are considerably less, of course.

I will do everything I can on my end to ensure and expedite delivery at the most financially sensible rate on the market.

Should you be the winning bidder, I would like to receive payment within THREE business days, please. Payment can be made via cashier's check or certified funds. Personal, business or annuity checks may be utilized, but must clear funds first, prior to any transportation arrangements being made. If you have questions or would like to discuss other payment arrangements, be sure to contact me prior to placing a bid, please.

An alternate method of payment can be done via bank wire transfer to my local CHASE Bank branch here in town. It is a very simple process, and it helps expedite delivery of the car. Upon receipt of payment, I will mail you the CA title and a Bill of sale to the car.

Feel free to EM or call me with questions or serious inquiries, no later than 9 pm PST, please. Thank you all for your interest!
