1995 Land Rover Discovery SD, R380 5 spd, CLEAN Description

Land Rover Discovery, 1995 - 3.9 V8, 5 spd R380, LT230 - 151 k/mi. Coniston Green w/ white roof. This is a very well maintained 1995 Land Rover, Discovery 1 with a well-known history in Florida. It features the five speed manual transmission, R380 and a LT230 transfer case. It is the SD model with NO sunroof and maintenance-free manual seats. The entire maintenance history of the vehicle is thoroughly documented through written records, pictures of all major maintenance and rebuilds, and receipts from Rovers North, P.T. Schram, Will Tillery, Safari Heritage, Atlantic British, and local Rover shops. Virtually everything in, under, or hidden on this D1 has been inspected, treated, repaired or replaced. I will be happy to provide you with a floor dolly, we can lift the carpets, and you can poke around the rust free frame. Below you will find the lists of completed repair and maintenance projects, the extensive list of spare parts included, and the upgrades and armour.

Let's start with the known issues, as all mature Rovers have. Front and rear pinion seals should be replaced but are not leaking. Transfer case inspection plate bolt holes - oil forms at bolt heads but does not leak on ground. There is a small dent in left-rear corner from an invisible tree root; you know the one. Left-front fender also dented when another, different tree jumped out at me. Small amount of normal foot well, surface rust was identified and properly treated. The door lock actuators all work with the fob and the alarm does work but the door lock springs on the front passenger and left rear doors are probably broken, requiring those two doors to be manually locked. All doors unlock perfectly with fob and door key. All carpet and padding has been removed, cleaned and reinstalled. There is no body rust and no holes in foot wells, rear cargo floor, or up in the wheel arches. Frame is rust free and solid. It has always been a Florida vehicle. In the pictures, note the dry valley pan, block, front cover, and power steering lines. I intentionally did not detail the engine or underside so you could see for yourself it does not have any leaks. Pressure washing and armor all on an engine would make me suspicious as a buyer. What you see is what you get.

Recent Engine Rebuild: Rebuilt top end and front cover assembly 5,500 miles ago, head gaskets, 4.2 cam, timing chain, cam and crank gears, machined heads, ground valves, guides, lifters, oxygen sensors, coolant temp sensor, new oil pump gears, front and rear main seals, valley pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, oil pickup gasket, distributor vacuum, cap, rotor, wires, vacuum lines, air filter, plenum heater hoses.

If you want an “expedition” ready or bad-ass glamping, well maintained and very reliable, highway friendly, cold a/c blowin’, 5-speed D1, with actual, proven off-road adventures in its history, this is the one you are looking for. It recently spent three weeks in Colorado (Divide route, Alpine Loop, Engineer and Cinnamon Passes...), Utah (Arches, Canyonlands, Moab), and New Mexico… Zero issues. This Disco has taken me and my family on many long adventures, all over the country. I am a long-time, die-hard Land Rover owner, former President of the Florida Land Rover Club, having owned and maintained many Rovers from my first '67 IIa to my latest rebuild project, a 1994 RRC LWB (not for sale). I am only selling this truck now because of a change in family needs for our adventure trips plus, this D1 is in the best possible condition right now. I would only sell with complete confidence in your ability to pick it up and drive it home, no matter how far or remote that may be. It is NOT a project... it is ready to serve you for many years to come.
