1977 Land Rover Defender Series III Description

This is a 1977 Series 3 Pre-defender with Right Hand Drive and rag top..If you know anything about these vehicles, then you know these are the #1 in iconic 4x4s; it can go anywhere. This one is a decommissioned British Military Vehicle with 93,000 original miles and in full working order. Everything is accounted for and functioning. It is garage kept and is my daily driver. I take it everywhere with no problems. It also has the overdrive synchronized mesh feature which allows for it to go 55mph on the highway, most don't.I have driven it from San Francisco to Tahoe with ease. The only reason I am selling it is because it falls under some ridiculous California grey market law, which means I have to spend 7500$ and change the entire engine in order for it become street legal here and I just don't have the money to do it. It passes all smog and safety in every other state, but CA. I have all the original import paperwork and a clean title from Washington State.All upholstery is great condition, the engine runs beautifully, and all electrical is spot on and functioning properly. Paint is not perfect and it has a small dent on the front right fender, but what 40yr old do you know doesn't have a few bumps andbruises>The only thing it really needs is to have the brakes bled. Included in the sale are the parts to do a complete rebuild of the brakes as preemptivemaintenance as well as a repair manual, Just in case you like to do the work yourself as I do.
