2004 Lexus LS Description

No expense has been spared on the 2004 Lexus LS 430. This is Lexus's flagship and it shows. . . it has a level of elegance and sophistication that is before the "plastic" era of today's vehicles, and has luxury, performance and safety features that no car had at the time. In the 2 years of ownership, we've put thousands of dollars to ensure it would give us many years of flawless service. This is my wife's car so I wanted to ensure everything was in working order. Our loss is your gain. See below for list of details and maintenance

Details/Accouterments

- 150000 miles

- second owner

- cold AC

- rust free Texas car

- clean title and Carfax

- gold with tan leather with real wood paneling

- As expected this car is loaded. The list of accouterments is too long to write all of them, but some of the highlights are folding power mirrors, rear telescoping sun shade, auto focus lights (they turn when you go around a curve!), heated/AC front and rear seats.

- very reliable 3UZ engine (can go 400K miles with proper maintenance) mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission.

- always use recommended premium fuel

- weather tech front and rear floor mats as well as the rear cargo mat. Also have the OEM carpet floor mats

- as expected for a 12 year old car, it does have a couple small scuffs/dings from normal wear

Maintenance performed

- new timing belt/water pump at 121990 miles This was not just the belt, but the big one where the top is done too (cam seals, crankshaft seals, idler, water pump, tensioner, belt, valve cover gaskets, Denso Iridium plugs, etc. Most places only do the belt but Lexus recommends the top seals/gaskets done too. This was $2100 alone

- oil changed with synthetic every 5000 miles

- new 225/55R17 Bridgestone Potenza tires (75k mile warranty) from Costco, currently have 13K miles on them

- lifetime alignment at Firestone

- new Hawk rear brake pads and rotors

- new hood and hatch supports

- new OEM thermostat sensor

As you can see, we've invested thousands of dollars to ensure this car would perform flawless for years to come. However, our needs changed recently and we now require a diesel pickup, which we have purchased.

Bottom line, this is a very well maintained Lexus that is ready to go for another 70K miles. You would be hard pressed to find another one in this condition with this high level of maintenance for this price. I have bought/sold 3 vehicles from sight unseen, so I know what it is like to purchase from pics alone. I have described this as accurately as possible, lets face it, no one likes surprises.

Terms: An immediate $500 non-refundable deposit is required with the balance due in 7 days. If you need to finance, please have that finalized before bidding. I will not disclose my reserve but it's lower than others that have this high level of maintenance. Thanks and God Bless.

UPDATE:I had an inquiry about previous paint work due to the minor accident on the vehicle history report. First, Autocheck does not go into detail like Carfax does and they really don't offer much value IMO outside of if it's a branded title. Second, below is what Carfax says verbatim in italics:

05/31/2013 Damage Report

Accident reported
Involving rear impact
with another motor vehicle
Very minor damage reportedVery minor rear damage reported Airbags did not deploy

CARFOX (the fox is saying this): Minor damage is usuallycosmetic, including dents or scratches to the vehicle body

The dealer gave me a copy of the Carfax report. I thoroughlyinspected the rear section and could not find any damage. This was good enough for me to move forward and have my qualified Lexus mechanic perform a very thorough pre-purchase inspection, which he could not find any damage either. So whatever happened was extremely minor and a non-issue for me to complete the purchase. I can speculate, perhaps someone in a parking lot rubbed up against the bumper scratching it and the PO had to get the police involved?? Just a guess. I am unsure if any paint work was done but if there was, it was likely limited to the plastic bumper cover.
