2005 Lexus IS Base Sedan 4-Door Description

ConditionCar is in Good Condition per most valuation tools. (excellent for the Chicago IL market given age and miles)
Has: All scheduled maintenance through 105k performed by Woodfield Lexus, including a new water pump at the 90k timing belt change. Premium 11-spoke Lexus 17" Wheels & Yokohama All-Season Performance Tires. Weather-tech rubber mats + OEM carpet mats. All OEM parts, nothing aftermarket. (Winter-tire package as pictured is NOT included.)
Needs: Front brake pads (3mm), Rear right strut. The car is completely drive-able, but is due for these wear/tear items.
Could use: Front hood re-spray (rock chips, dime-size rust spot). Misc touch-ups and buffing opportunities around body. Driver window motor replacement (slow but recently lubricated), Climate Control servo replacement (makes noise, but completely functional.) Most of these are costly and not worth doing on a daily driver, but added for awareness.
Doesn't work: Lighter (doesn't light and doesn't charge USB devices). Hood prop.Does work: Everything else, no known electrical problems (i.e. exterior/interior lighting, seats/seat-memory, HVAC, safety systems, etc.). Engine pulls fine, transmission always in gear. Brakes getting a bit spongy, but should improve with new pads/fresh cut rotors.
TO SUMMARIZE
This is an extremely clean and reliable version of the 1st Gen Lexus IS300. I am the second owner, and the first was a lease from the same dealer. Still to this day, I get compliments from the dealership over the condition of this vehicle. Most service reps and porters were around since the launch of the brand and comment how quality/craftsmanship has dipped on newer models. This car will easily go another 100k.
While it has recently become a city vehicle; parked outside and run on potholed streets, the first 8-9 years were garaged in the suburbs. Though it's driven aggressively from time-to-time, it's never been beaten on or raced...I'll be glad to see it go to a new, responsible owner!!
