2002 Lexus RX 300 Description

This an amazing Lexus, and the nicest RX300 around. It's literally the elderly couple owned, and hardly ever driven, garage find. It only has 30,100 miles on it and one prior owner. It was stored its entire life in a perfectly conditioned garage, and wasn't driven the last 10-11 years before I got it. Everything about this gorgeous Lexus looks and feels new, from the soft leather and brilliant smooth wood interior, to the beautiful silver exterior paint.

My father in law has a custom gate building and repair business here in San Diego, and he saw this Lexus RX300 in a garage, with another car, at a house that turned out to be a summer vacation mansion, while he was fixing the property's front gate. The conservatorship wanted to be rid of it, and no one knew the last time it had been run, or if it even ran, at all. On the day I went to look at the cars, one of the owner's long time house staff was there, and she told me she couldn't even remember the last time the owner had been to the house, but guessed it must have been at least 10 years. Nobody could tell the mileage because it had a dead battery, and I didn't want to risk powering up the car and running the fuel pump until I had cleaned and serviced the fuel system, so I had to hope it was low mileage. The RX300's last registration sticker was from 2007. The car was covered in dust, and had been sitting so long that the tires were flat, the fuel had turned to varnish, and the battery was dead. I had high hopes for its condition, as everything from wiper blades to radiator hoses, vacuum hoses, and even the serpentine belt were in perfect, soft, new looking condition, the interior was perfect like new, and the exterior looked to be in great shape, despite the dirt. After I bought it, assuming it had low mileage, I had it towed home. I drained the fuel tank, changed the oil and transmission fluid, replaced the battery, and it fired right up once everything was ready. It is truly incredible how perfectly and smoothly this car drives, after all these years, even on the freeway. The brakes work great, the transmission shifts smoothly, everything feels perfect. All the accessories work, the windows, door locks, everything... the automatic A/C even blows ice cold! I did have to put on new tires, as the others had cracked sidewalls from going flat. It's really in incredible condition. The doors, windows, locks, switches, knobs, buttons... everything works and feels like new. It is fully loaded with all the options you could get in 2002, including navigation, and 2 position driver's seat memory. All I've done to the exterior is a wash and wax, it hasn't even been polished, and looks amazing. I bought it with 29,940 miles on it, and had to drive it some distance to get everything in the ECU to reset so it would pass smog, as the battery had been long dead. It is now parked in our driveway, not being driven. There are minor blemishes on the front and rear bumpers, as is shown in pictures of the RX300, that look to be the handy work of an elderly driver gently parking by braille. At the end of this auction it will have mileage very close to what is pictured. I encourage you to come see this Lexus, or send a representative to do so, you just won't believe how nice it is. Everything about is as if it is new, or a year or two old.

I will be happy to demonstrate that the car runs great, and drives, and will allow test drives if funds are proven to be available. Upon winning this auction, a non-refundable good will deposit of $750 is due within 24 hours, and may be paid by Paypal, or the winning bid is considered void. The balance remaining must be paid within 7 days, and may only be paid by cashier's check, or money order. If these conditions are not met within the time frame above allotted the car will be retained, the deposit kept, and the car free to sell to another buyer. This car will, under no condition, be released to the winning bidder, or the title signed over, until all funds for the car have been deposited and cleared into the account of the seller. The car was registered on 18 April, and the CA DMV typically takes two to four weeks to send a new title. If the title is not in hand when the car is sold, a CA DMV service can file transfer of ownership to another CA resident, or if an out of CA buyer, a CA bill of sale can be completed, and the title signed and overnight Fedexed to the new owner the same day it arrives to me. I am also happy to sign any bill of sale supplied by the buyer, as long as it is factual. Either way, the car will be released and provided with a CA DMV bill of sale (or buyer supplied bill of sale, if asked) once the purchase funds have cleared the bank. Again, the title will be signed and overnight Fedexed the same day it arrives here from the DMV if it comes after car is sold and released.
