1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible with Suicide Doors
Sultana white exterior with turquoise metallic leather interior and turquoise matelassé cloth; this color combination is very rare. The vehicle has 50,562 original miles and has been stored in a heated basement for twenty plus years. The history of the car goes back to where it was purchased new at a Lincoln dealership (Delray Motors Inc.) in Delray Beach, Fla.Service paperwork shows the purchase date as May 24, 1962.I am the third owner of this gorgeous vehicle. It is almost flawless to the eye, inside and out.I had the components of the convertible top repaired and inspected by Tom Chittwood.Tom is a world known Lincoln enthusiast and travels the United States repairing electrical components of classic cars.
I am not exactly sure when the vehicle was restored last but it was done by the individual, who has since passed away, that I purchased the vehicle from. When I took possession of the vehicle I found several documents in the glove box from a Lincoln Continental Owners Club judging.Copies of the documents are below with the previous owner’s name blacked out for privacy reasons. The vehicle was judged in many categories and received very high marks in all categories. Also accompanying this phenomenal looking Lincoln is original owner’s manual as well as other informational documents.
As I walk around this vehicle I notice the chrome shining to no end.I see the convertible top to be almost completely white with no dark marks or signs of serious wear. When I get in the vehicle I see the glass and mirrors to be almost perfect.I notice small marks on the radio, door lock and window buttons. The carpet looks great and the leather seats look like they are brand new.The tires are in terrific condition with factory rims.Driving the vehicle in just glides down the road; all window buttons and power lock buttons are functioning. The radio plays the local AM channel and the heater blows nice and hot.Power seat works flawlessly.
