2002 Lincoln Blackwood Description

2002 Lincoln Blackwood Pickup Truck

*. *

There is a LOT of information here. Please read thoroughly and completely prior to bidding.Your bid is a binding contract. You are responsible for arranging delivery. No warranty is implied or given.Sold as is, where is.

Here is a really nice, used 2002 Lincoln Blackwood pickup truck.

If you have never heard of or seen it, that is because it was only produced one year (well, actually 3 in very small numbers for 2001 and 2003).

At the time of production, it retailed for $51,785.A LOT of money in 2002 for a pickup truck, thus it was only produced one full year.(HUGE flop for Ford/Lincoln at the time)

It is a combination of a Lincoln Navigator front end and interior on a Ford F-150 chassis (from my understanding).

Very limited edition with production numbers being:

·2001 – 137 units

·2002 – 3,066 units

·2003 – 153 units

·There was a 2002 Nieman Marcus Edition of 50 units

Features of this truck:

·5.4L 32-valve DOHC inTech V-8 / 300 hp / 355 lb-ft

·4 speed automatic overdrive (can be overridden by push-button on shifter)

·2 Wheel Drive

·Towing capacity of 8700 lbs(includes tow hitch and electrical connector) (towing class III/IV)

·Black exterior with black Connolly leather interior

·Remote Keyless entry (controls locks and rear tonneau cover)

·Unique stainless steel-lined trunk with Wenge Wood photo-image appearance on rear compartment

·Hard POWER tonneau cover(both remote controlled and interior buttons) (cannot be removed)

·Fully carpeted bed with LED light strips and overhead light

·Dual-door tailgate with interior storage bins – doors swing out

·18” Factory aluminum wheels with recent tires

·4-place seating with low-back bucket seats with Connolly leather seating surfaces.Power front seats with 6-way adjustments, power lumbar controls, and climate controlled with both heating and cooling. Driver’s seat has 3-postion memory.

·Power adjustable accelerator and brake pedals.Allows brake and accelerator pedals to travel up to three inches.

·Automatic Parking Brake Release – automatically releases the parking brake when the vehicle is shifted out of Park.

·Reverse Sensing System (this system works, but the indicator sounds can barely be heard)

·Includes the one and only option – Navigation.I removed the monitor from the front, lower center console and replaced it with the factory Lincoln Navigator storage trays. The monitor is included if you so desire to put it back in.Includes a set of navigation cd’s, but I have no idea if they work as the unit is 14 years old and would be extremely outdated. The factory navigation cd unit is still in the vehicle in the front center console.

·Factory Alpine Audiophile system with 7 speakers (including a sub), cassette deck, cd changer in front center console, and 140W total – with speed sensitive volume control.

·HomeLink Universal Garage Door Opener on driver’s sun visor(3-button for garage doors/gates)

·Leather/Wood steering wheel with audio, cruise, and HVAC controls built in(very cool feature – have never seen HVAC controls built into a steering wheel)

·Traction Assist (can be deactivated via a dash button)

·Separate Front and Rear HVAC controls

·Separate Rear stereo controls, with headset plugs

·Fold-flat rear seating

·Power, dual-fold-away, side-view heated, signal, memory mirrors.

·Five separate power points (12v outlets) throughout vehicle, including one in the bed

·Chrome plated fuel filler door

·Power moonroof

·Rear window defroster

·Separate front and rear center consoles with beverage holders

·Lower bodyside cladding with flared wheellips

·Original Factory owner’s manual

·Original Factory jack

·Full size, original factory spare wheel/tire

·Original Factory floor mats – driver’s floor mat is not in good shape, but is there

·Has aftermarket Flowmaster exhaust – has a nice, low rumble to it.This was installed prior to me purchasing the vehicle.

·Engine compartment is detailed and spotless

The front grill has been replaced with a matt-black one with a red Lincoln logo. The original chrome grill is included in case you want to return it to factory.

The headlights have been replaced with units that have black surrounds. The original factory units are included with the sale (note – these are NOT HID’s – they are factory halogen units).

Complete tinting all around for privacy.Driver’s door window needs to be re-done as it has begun bubbling.(this may be resolved by the time the vehicle is purchased as it’s driving me crazy)

Extras that I have:

·Factory Lincoln sales literature. (the brochure you would have been given in 2002 if you were interested)

·Factory Dealer literature. This is what was sent to the dealerships for the sales people to learn about the new product being released.Has all the details included.(several of the above details were taken from this literature)

·4 key fobs – only 2 programmed at the moment, but programming instructions are included.

·3 factory keys

·Newer battery

·Refreshed A/C – blows ice cold

·Trailer hitch and electrical connector (purchased from U-Haul when I was moving to NV)

·Factory Ford Motor Company 2002 Blackwood Workshop Manual and Wiring Diagrams – VERY hard to find and worth over $300 alone.

·The CD-ROM in the picture has the following documents on it (in pdf format): Driving your SUV or Truck, Navigation System, Owner’s Manual, Review, Scheduled Maintenance Guide, Warranty Information, full Carfax when I purchased the vehicle. All of these docs were pulled from the internet. They are factory Ford/Lincoln manuals that are hard to find.

·Full service records (in green folder) since I have owned the truck (10/2009). Any major service has been completed at a Ford dealership with oil changes performed at local shops.

·Services (not all listed):

·Oil change at 119,564 miles (1/2016)

·New Front Tires @ 113,105 miles (7/2014)

·New front brakes/front wheel seals/clean & pack bearings (5/2014)

·New Platinum Spark Plugs/flush injectors (3/2013)

·Brake Flush (3/2013)

·New alternator and battery (12/2011)

·New A/C compressor, accum, orfice, and flushed system – replaced Freon, Transmission flush, Replace rear axle lubricant (7/2011)

·Fuel Tank Strap Recall(Factory Ford Recall) – resolved(11/2011)

·Front/Rear brake job (10/2010)

·Just passed NV smog without any issues.Currently registered and driven daily in Nevada.

·In the bed of the truck picture is the: Original front chrome grill, original factory headlights, 2003 Navigator front driver’s seat leathers (including head rest), factory navigation display unit, hitch and trailer electrical connector.

The cons:

·Will need a new paint job.The clear coat is pealing on the tonneau cover and the paint is just not looking too good after 14 years (current factory paint is on truck – it has never been repainted). The Wedge Wood photo-image appearance on the bed sides is in great shape and does not need to be repaired.Just the black paint needs to be re-painted.

·The front bumper will need to be repaired or replaced as it has been torn – see detailed pictures.(there are aftermarket and factory bumpers available on eBay)

·The driver’s seat will need to be re-covered, or restored.I have a set of factory leather seat covers that I purchased from eBay that I will include, but I don’t believe it is the correct seat pattern (from a 2003 Navigator).

·The door panels have some minor issues.See pictures for details.

·The ABS light comes on intermittently. The truck stops without issue. This only affects the ABS portion, meaning if you slam on the brakes, the ABS will not kick in – it will lock up.I do not know what the problem is.It does not always come on, but wanted to mention it.I actually tested this the other day by slamming on the brakes, and the ABS did kick in.No idea why the light comes on intermittently.

·The Check Suspension light comes on intermittently.I have asked at the dealer and there is a reset button that can be pushed (I do not know where it is). This came on after new tires were installed as they had the truck up on a lift and extended the suspension out.

·The automatic indicator on the dash (P, R, N, 1, etc) does not indicate the correct gear – meaning when the car is in Reverse, the indicator shows 1st, etc.I’m sure this could be easily fixed, but it doesn’t bother me, so I have left it alone.

·The dash clock bezel is broken – see the pictures for details.

·I also hear the air suspension pump going at odd times – never had any affect, so I didn’t worry about it. Not necessarily a con, but wanted to mention it.

·The carpet in the bed could be refreshed. It has white paint on it (before I bought it).The interior of the bed is in good shape and the lights work and the stainless looks good.

I have owned this truck since July, 2009 and it has never failed me.

This is a daily driver and mileage will change.Currently at 120,xxx miles.I purchased the vehicle with 80,564 miles. So as you can see, it has only had approx. 6k miles a year put on it since I have owned it.

With a fresh paint job and the drivers seat fixed, this truck would be a VERY nice truck to drive and enjoy.

I have a clear California title in hand. Can be transferred as soon as the vehicle is paid for and funds clear the bank.

I have the CarFax from when I originally purchased the vehicle - it shows 2 previous owners at the time. I am assuming I am the 3rd owner. Not sure why CarFax is showing 5 previous owners unless it is from me getting it licensed in other states (I moved from CA to TX and then to NV with the truck).

What you see is what you get.I have attempted to describe this vehicle in the best manor that I could. There is NO warranty implied or given.
