1999 Lincoln Town Car Executive Description

For Sale I have a, pristine and low mileage 1999 Lincoln Town Car. The last hurrah of American automotive comfort.
These model years, from 1998-2002 represent the pinnacle of the last great, full-size, body on frame, American luxury sedan. An automotive masterpiece and oddity, in today's day and age, that will never be seen again.
When the Cadillac Fleetwood ceased production in 1996, and with Chrysler not having a segment-relevant car since the last full size New Yorker, it left the Lincoln Town Car to soldier on as the last of an era. An era of, by purely American standards, gargantuan luxury sedans. An era of unrivaled room and comfort as only a truly American brand could offer. An era when you aspired to own a prestige mark and could reward your own success by driving the biggest, most comfortable, car on the market. A golden age where fast cars were defined by their blistering acceleration and luxury cars were built to isolate you from the road in a comfortable, and quiet, cocoon of leather and solace. Not some bastardized version of both that most, so called, "luxury" brands are offering today.
This is the car that will relax and sooth you after a long days work as you float, blissfully, down the road towards home.
As much as I admire all Lincoln Town Cars from their inception to their unfortunate demise in 2011, the 98-02 model years personify the best of everything American luxury had to offer (of both old and new) and the high water mark for Lincoln as a brand.
These cars boast modern technology such as fuel injection, modern sleek aerodynamic styling, modern fuel economy with its smooth but practical 4.6L OHC V8, and perhaps most importantly, modern reliability. Combine all of that with the comforts of yesterday, such as feather light steering and pillow soft suspension, and what you are left with, in my opinion, is one of the greatest cars ever assembled.
When the Town Car received a facelift for its final incarnation, in 2003, the comfort suffered. Pressured by European trends and automotive globalization, Lincoln finally caved on American style luxury. The Town Car was much stiffer in ride and suspension feel from 03 on. And just look at the subcompact offerings Lincoln showrooms display today. Front wheel drive, seating for only 2 persons in the front, and cylinder deficient engines that are as noisy and powerless as they are unreliable. They are trying and failing to be BMW and Mercedes Benz when they had a better formula all along. A formula of uncompromising room and comfort. The style of car Rolls Royce and Bentley learned to build from Cadillac and Lincoln.
The American Luxury Sedan may be dead from a production standpoint, but we are fortunate to live in a day and age where these fine cars have depreciated to the point that they are affordable and accessible to most.
I fear in the years to come these cars will quickly be consumed by limo and taxi companies searching for the last practical, reliable, luxury cars and also by wealth savvy consumers who see the value of a low mileage traditional luxury car over a, new, compact 4 cylinder car with a luxury brand badge on the hood.
This car runs, idles, and drives perfectly. The brakes and acceleration are smooth. The steering is pinky light and suspension is soft. There are no noises or rattles and absolutely everything functions on the car as it should. There is also zero rust anywhere on the car and no leaks. The car also has the perfect mileage for a car of its age.
Too many people get hung up looking for the lowest mileage or the newest model year they can afford when in reality the perfect used car is usually a combination of both. What you want is a car that has been driven enough in order to keep fluids, brakes, suspension and many other components from seizing up or deteriorating while sitting stagnant. However, you also have to walk the line of finding a car without too many miles on the odometer that will be worn out and worthless after a year or so of daily driving. This car is absolutely flawless underneath! I personally would never buy a car from across the country without seeing undercarriage pictures and I would recommend you do not either. You would be amazed at the numerous 20k and 30k miles I have seen with rotted frames over the years. These cars have beautiful exteriors and flawless exteriors but if the car has sat the bottom will be covered in rust. Below I have provided numerous undercarriage pictures and have also included numerous engine bay pictures to try to express how well cared for this car really was.
Here, I offer you a car that has extremely low mileage for its year, at just 75k, but a car with enough miles and constant movement that it defies the usual gremlins that a car abandoned in a garage for 20 years would normally be tormented by. This is THE Town car on the market currently. It has the right mileage, is the right generation, has the condition expected of a car cared for so well, and is the right color combination.
Whether you tuck this car away for nights and weekends out, or intend to take advantage of the last comfortable and reliable car by driving it everyday, there is simply no better value on the market than a well cared for Lincoln Town Car. And this represents the pinnacle of the brand at a price of only $5000. A timeless automobile immune to depreciation based on age and one that may actually climb in value if driven sparingly.
The only flaws I have found are the common ones found on any Town Car of this age. The bumpers have light scratching here and there, the chrome on the upper grill is slightly blistered, and the wheels clear coat has started to peel. Please see the numerous photos below of this cars fantastic overall condition.
Thank you for your interest and thanks for reading.
I welcome all inspections on the vehicle, be it mechanical or cosmetic, personal or professional, and I can gladly provide high quality photos of any specific area on the car for you that I may have missed. There are inspection companies that eBay recommends and last time I used them the cost was around $100. Worth every penny and I highly recommend their services. If you would like to have an inspection done and are having trouble finding the correct link please call so I can point you in the right direction.
Be clear I am not responsible for shipping. eBay has a list of recommended shippers but I have found that typically the best prices are found by searching Google and shopping companies against one another. However, I will gladly help assisting you with shipping or would gladly (and preferably) pick you up from any local airport so you can make a good personal inspection of the car before taking delivery. Boston Logan International Airport, Providence Airport, Manchester Airport, or preferably Worcester Airport.
Please note I also have the car for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
50% of the payment is due within the first 48 hours of the auction ending. The remainder is due upon pickup.
