I'm a super up front, let you know whats up so there are no surprises type of guy. My price reflects the few minor little things, and I mean MINOR as these are mostly notorious lotus cosmetic things that need to be addressed.
This February will hit the 4 year mark of owning this car. I purchased it from a collector in Carlisle PA with 29,000 miles on it. It currently has 42,XXX on it. Since owning it I've installed a Katana 2 Supercharger kit, ACT Clutch, Lightweight flywheel, HID's, Stage 2 exhaust and replaced the factory radio. (I have all of the factory components, including exhaust and oem manifold, etc.)
This past spring I backed it into a post in a friends driveway, putting a small crack in the rear clam. It was sent to the best body shop in the area where it was repaired with fiberglass, not bondo, and while it was there I also had the entire front clam and access panels re-sprayed. (The old star shield was horrible. the exposed area's were very dull, and there were a ton of chips all over the front panels). I have pictures of this entire process from start (crack) to finished product. The paint was digitally matched, even the primer was laid down in the Ardent Red first for an exact match. You cannot tell this is not the oem paint, I promise you! It's gorgeous and mirror like!
While it was away getting fixed, I bought a brand new Katana 2 kit from a user on here, and as soon as I got her back it was installed at a dealership as well as an ACT clutch and lightweight flywheel. ECU was sent out for flash. Car runs beautifully with the Katana on. It's a night at day difference, how this car should be from the factory. I've put about 1K miles on it since the installation. The car was put away in late October for winter storage, on a battery tender. (battery is also brand new, purchased in August).
The car runs amazing, it's strong and alive! All around excellent! I've always run synthetic oil in it. Clutch feels perfect. Katana 2 tune is perfection. I've never had any issues with stalling, misfires, etc.
The "problems":
Headlights- both headlights buckets (I'm assuming from the paint job) are cracked where they bolt to the body. The lights are sitting in there, and if you manually lift them out, they will come out. They do not move, rattle, or come out while driving.
Marker Light- The last drive I took her for before I put it away.. of course one of the marker lights pops out! Notorious, common Lotus issue. I've got 2-3 other sets of these lights you can take from all of the times I've replaced them!
Tail light blink, right side. Not sure if it's a relay or what but for the past year or so, right turn signal blinks fast. All lights are on, bulbs are good. Never spent the time to pinpoint why.
Rear pinhole mark. There was a tiny bubble that appeared in the paint where the fiberglass was repaired a few months after while sitting in the sun. The body shop said there was probably moisture in the glass that had an air pocket and found it's way out. It was popped with a pin and it's almost unnoticeable, but I know it's there!
Right rear marker light over wheel well. It's on tight right now, but every once in a while it like's to come loose because the posts that hold it on are cracked. I ordered a replacement
from a user on here, but they sent me the wrong side. Never got around to addressing it further.
ABS Light- Abs light came on recently. It comes and goes. Most of the time it's on, I've had 40 mile trips where it never came on, and 1/2 mile from my house it's popped on. Probably a sensor going bad, but not sure.
HVAC- A/C works like a champ! Heat likes to not work if it's really cold out. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The owner before me made me aware of this. It's never bothered me because I don't drive it outside of spring/summer/fall anyway.
Other than those mostly cosmetic issues, she's a beauty. You fellow Lotus owners know, the head turning, non stop pointing and OH MY GOD's you get from people when you drive this thing. If you're looking for a great car at a great price and don't mind spending a couple hours fixing a few lights... this is a deal!
I've taken into consideration mileage, cost of headlights & marker light, and you'll prob need some new front R888's soon. This is the 3rd year I've had them. They have decent tread, but I'm weary about using those too long. The rear R888's are also new from the beginning of this year, excellent condition and almost mint on the tread!
You'll get all of the OEM parts that I have as well, including the exhaust, radio, a pair of CF side vents I had on it that the clear coat peeled off, some OEM marker lights and the components from the S/C install.
