2007 Mazda 3, 32 mpg, 5-spd, sporty driver with a few cosmetic issues; needs nothing for winter driving
-in the family since 2014-No check-engine lights or service warnings (other than tire-pressure indicator mentioned below)-Engineering-student son has changed the full synthetic oil regularly-32 mpg this thing is more efficient than some hybrids-solid leak-free exhaust system-battery replaced in last 18 mo.-5-spd is a cool plus for a lot of you out there-runs super-well-ding free windshield, all door power windows working well-power locks work from keyless remote-goes straight down the interstate, hands off the wheel on cruise at 75 mph-stops quietly and smoothly from highway speeds-Everything works as expected except the E-brake is all the way at the end of the handle travel
We sorted this one out to pass along to a niece for college transport than my mom up-and-died on us (only made it to 94!) and she left a new Camry behind for the niece.
RECENT UPDATES -re-do of AC system including a new compressor (blows ice cold) -new tires & brakes in last 10k mi -4-wheel alignment -new front ball joints, stablizers, lower control arms -new rear struts -fresh oil and filter (full synthetic changed at 4k mi intervals) -O2 sensor replaced
Car starts, runs and drives without issue. All optional equipment working--Cruise control, lights, gages, etc. All windows working, windshield clear and un-dinged. Clutch is smooth and progressive. Stops smoothly and straight from speed.No leaks of any fluids. Cruise all day at 75. Great gas mileage and fun to drive. The defects -scraped up front fender with panel damage in front of right front wheel -tire pressure warning light is on (sensor related as tires are new with no issues) -some corrosion starting around wheel wells -a ding in passenger front door (touched up with primer) -e-brake at the end of lever travel and doesn't hold well (suspect rear cables need to be changed) -some holes in driver's seat and rear seat but interior is overall decent with no rips or tears in carpet or upholstery -no odd smells or smoke residue, not been smoked in during our ownership -some tree sap has spotted here and there on the hood and top. otherwise paint is decent.
