There are 159, xxx miles on it (currently 110 but could go up as I will drive the car sometimes, though not much). The car runs and drives 100%. The transmission shifts smoothly, the clutch engages and disengages smoothly. There is no slippage to the clutch beyond the driver pressing the pedal.
The car drives straight and true, only veering to one side or the other with nuances in the road. It stops straight.
There has been work done on it recently. It has a new tune up (spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, wires and IAC motor). It has a newer exhaust system. The tires are in good condition and should last for quite a while.
This car does have a few cosmetic issues (a little rust on the outside, some panels that have been removed from the interior but are in the trunk... I just haven't figured out how to put them back together).
There is no check engine or other warning lights.
The only things known to be wrong with this car (every used car should have something wrong with it) are these: the air conditioner blows warm air (the heat will burn you out of there if you let it), the paint is faded in spots (especially on the roof), the radio seems to not be able to pull in semi distant stations (these are all really minor). The biggest thing wrong is the parking brake spring is weak or something. If you engage it, sometimes it doesn't want to disengage. I just don't use it.
It looks decent, runs well and even smells good. The oil got changed recently with Quaker State high mileage oil and a Purolator oil filter.
There is no reason why this car shouldn't easily make it to 250,000 miles that I can see. There is no reason tothink it won't be reliable. If I thought it wouldn't be reliable, I wouldn't sell it.
The trunk is spacious, too, and even includes a Haynes service manual.
This would be an IDEAL first car for a new driver. Not that expensive, great on gas, teach them to drive a manual transmission car so their options are wide open in the future AND get them where they want to go reliably. It even has 4 doors so it'll be relatively easy for friends to get in and out if they like.
