1975 Mazda Rotary Pickup
1974 Mazda B-Series Pickups Description
Vehicle is 1974 Mazda Rotary Pickup. This is a rare piece of Mazda and Automobile history. It is the only rotary engine powered truck in the world. The engine is the same that was put into the famous rx3.
It is equipped with a deltoro 48 Carb and racing beat intake manifold and header.
This example is in running shape. Headlights and interior lights are in working order. The speedo is 5mph off and is very shaky. From my understanding this is very common on these trucks. The wheels and tires have less than 100 miles on them as well as the brakes. I have receipts to back this up. These are very rare, Mazda only produced 15,000 for North America Only. Running examples are even harder to come by. The truck was repainted at some point but it doesn't seem to have been restored. It was originally green. This truck is 42 years old. So it is not perfect. The front driver's floor board has lots of rust that needs to be addressed, please reference the pictures i've provided.
If i were to keep it the lower rust issue and the exhaust from the header back would be addressed. It currently has a setup that was made by what looks like a chimp on his first day at a welding school and does leak a little. I have owned this only a few months with the hope to save it, but some life happened so it must go. All I have done was the brakes. Everything else is as I bought it.
I'd love to see this go to a true rotary enthusiast that knows the rarity and has the resources to bring this back to its former glory.
I have the right to end the sale at any time as it its for sale locally as well.
