1976 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SLC Hardtop Coupe Description

Mercedes Benz 450 SLC, Affordable Classic Elegance and highly collectable. Much admired, magnificent gray-blue metallic coachwork with absolutely no rust and lots of beautiful chrome too. Shines bright like a diamond ! Original Mercedes Alloy Wheels in perfect condition. Local (Richmond) Mercedes Benz Club of America vehicle, on collector plates right now. Would be a reliable daily driver too, but really way too nice for this, or winter use. This is the four seat pillarless coupe version of the 450 SL, with fixed hardtop, power windows and Sunroof, original Becker Grand-Prix, radio-cassette player, "correct " Hirschman electric antenna, and super clean in all departments. This model is really coming into its own now as a collector, classic vehicle and is known as the 107 Series coupe. Originally built in Germany, December 1975 as a 1976 North American model and first registered in Canada in January 1976. Well shod with the "correct" tyres, and in fabulous condition due to having only done 174,000 kilometres in her almost 40 years. That's about 4,350 Kms / year ! Present owner for the last 12 years. Has needed very little in that period, by reason of the fact that these vehicles were built almost bullet-proof. Only about 5000 of this model were produced in total, for this model year, so you won't see one too often, as they were much rarer than the SL Convertible model - that's what makes it more collectable. There are literally thousands of donor parts available from SL cars and a huge inventory from the Mercedes parts supply line, especially from the Mercedes Classic Centre in Irvine, California. This car is all original Mercedes as far as parts go and the bodywork is excellent. The interior of the car is Dark Blue leather with no rips or tears. The engine and trunk compartments defy belief and look as good as new. Mature owner/seller has a new toy so this one has to go, but only to a good home !
