1996 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S420 Description

1996 Mercedes S420 with the long wheel base. Unbelievably comfortable and solid ride. I am driving it at the moment back and forth to work, so mileage might go up a bit. The car used to be my wife's who drove it for about 5 years back and forth to work. It was used very sporadically over the last year since we wanted to keep it for our daughter, who ended up with a different car. I just don't have the room to store the car, which is the only reason I decided to sell it.
The car has pretty much all the bells and whistles - double glazed windows, dual zone AC, HID/Xenon head lights, Bose sound system, Clarion multimedia head unit with 7" screen, MP3, Navigation, Bluetooth, etc., everything electric, and so on...
It was always maintained with Mobil 1 full synthetic and MANN filter every 3,000 miles, transmission service with filter every 35,000 miles. I work on quite a few Mercedes cars of that vintage and own quite a few of them as well. There are many new and expensive parts on the car since I was getting it ready for our daughter (fuel pump, 4 new O2 sensors, A/C compressor, Almost new Yokohama tires all around - less than 3,000 miles, battery, duo-valve, etc.). The car isn't perfect, and still needs a little more to get back into perfect shape again (glass sunroof not working, could use some new front rotors at some point, has some small tears in the leather, brake light switch causes intermittent dash light - known issue, have part, crack on the side in the gauge panel glass, some cosmetics). It is a car that's 20 years old with 180k on the clock, so there will be things to take care of, but I doubt you'll find a better looking and maintained W140 at that price point.
The ride is amazing, basically like only a S-Class of that vintage rides and the long wheel base gives unbelievable room in the back. Starts every time first try, hot or cold. Idles and runs as smooth as it gets. It's one of those cars you can drive cross country and get out of without a back ache. We have a few too many cars at this point, and this is the least used, and it's a shame just having it sitting here. Car could use a good detailing, see the pictures, and you may very well find a few hair from our husky in there, as he loved riding in this car!
I've been around these cars all my life. This is a car that was originally maintained by the Mercedes shop in town that we bought it from, and then by ourselves religiously like all of our cars. The last year of being driven only sporadically and lack of inside storage have brought up some issues that I tried to describe as good as possible.
